I have the Ironman Nitro Stage 2 and love it. I don't do hardcore off roading, but do go on a lot of rocky, dusty, bumpy roads. And driving on the beach is no issue at all. In fact, I think stock suspension is fine for that in most cases.

I cannot comment on the Nitro but I can say their CS has been great every time I have contacted them. The nitro lift should be equivalent to the Old Man Emu lift which is decent.

If those are your needs why not go with bilstein 5100 or eibach pro truck? Those are also very budget friendly. Maybe even just 5100 or eibach struts/shocks, to level it out and improve driveablity

I originally did and returned it because it was said it be a stiff ride and I needed new uca since I got 2.5 front 1.5 rear lift. By the time I would have done that it was the same price to do a full kit that was said to be as smooth a ride as a stick runner

Okay so these are my measurements to center of hub:

    22.5 drivers side
    23.5 passenger side

Granted I added a ton of weight (front steel bumper, dual swing-out rear steel bumper, 3rd row seat), steel gas skid, Gobi roof rack, etc. so I am weighted down quite a bit plus I have a 34” E rated M/T spare on rear bumper. Had I removed all this weight I am sure my vehicle will go up 1-2 inches.

We are in the same boat. Wish I would have waited to go with 285's, but thats life. I'll try to get a photo up later. Quite frankly it does not look too bad...

I was waiting for someone to comment on their CS. I have to add my two cents as well. Ironman 4x4s customer service has been awesome for me. That combined with their constant sales they have going on led me to purchase most of my big $ mods from them. They were extremely helpful and even went so far as to recommend other companies products that I could consider for comparison. Plus, I've always received an immediate response from their chat feature on their website, so long as they are open.

I've never been the type to leave reviews and I've always felt like most reviews you see online are a poor representation as it is always coming from someone who thinks they have been "wronged". I understand that's the whole point of customer service, but all of this is subjective. That being said, I made sure to give Ironman all the positive reviews I could and will continue to promote them just because they seem to put a high priority on these things.

OP, sorry you're having issues with them. Just wanted to share my story.

If we weren’t separated by about 2000 miles, I’d make you a deal on some barely worn Nitto RG 285’s.

Just throw some spacers in and your good. :boink: ;)
Sorry those didn’t work out for you. If I didn’t just get new tires myself I would hit you up on that offer.

No worries, the 285’s were fun but I’m enjoying the improved drivability and mpg with the 265’s.

If it makes you feel any better I put the Ironman 3/2 on my 4th gen and I love it. Had it probably 8 months and no problems to report.

I have (almost) nothing but good things to say about Ironman customer service. When I ordered mine they had a 15% off sale and just a couple days later they went to 25%. I called them about it and they refunded me the difference. The only, very small thing they did that ticked me off a little was I called them to ask if I needed to install the 1/2" trim packer to get the 3 inches and I was told yes. After installing it I had almost 4" of lift in front. When I called back about it the same guy told me I didn't need to install them. But I ordered the 10mm ones and changed them out and ended up with about 3 1/4 inches in front which I like. Otherwise I was happy with the customer service and I'm very happy with the product.

That does, really does! Was it the nitro stage two by chance? Or the foam cell that most use and love?

outstanding! That does help thanks. Mine arrived today so hoping to have time to get it on within a week. Do you go off road much in yours? Curious because they recommended this one for people that mainly drive on roads and want a smooth ride but may occasionally take it off road on easy paths.

I'd like to think I'm some kind of off road enthusiast but in reality I don't get off road all that much. In the Summer when we're in the mountains we do a good but of riding on gravel forest service roads and maybe something a little more intense but nothing serious. But when we move there in about another year I plan to start doing some mild trails in my spare time. I really don't have any doubts that the Nitro setup will be fine though. They didn't even tell me it was more for highway. Maybe I didn't ask, lol. I have a pretty good amount of confidence in the setup but really nothing concrete to back that up with.

that’s cool, that’s the jist of what we’ll do with occasional driving on beach at the coast or some of the easy trails. At uwharrie, you may have said and I forgot but what size tire do you run?

    Best wishes with your mod.

Take it out on the trails this weekend and then after the lift so you can compare.

I haven’t made it out on my trails yet since I made the change last week. Been busy and it’s too fricking hot.

I will say I’m impressed with a Stock 4Runner. We just went to uwharrie to only do the easy dirt trails and ended up on top of the “mountain” fully stock no air out of tires. To get up the last large part we did use our crawl assist other than that 4 lo the whole way. Only scraped a few times hopefully the lift fixed that.
