Totally absurd. I walked in ready to pay MSRP, floor rep was willing to play ball the but manager was dead set on trying to get at least an additional 20K. He kept repeating other dealerships were charging 25-35K on top of MSRP and was adamant he was going to find a buyer, so....

If these guys weren't such scumbags they would post the AMVs online but they want to hit you with it after you walk in.

Respectfully speaking, in some cases it's not about being "dumb". While I'm not in the mindset to overpay, some buyers are. I thought this thread was about what dealers are selling these for?

And I for sure would not try to shame someone who is getting a vehicle of their dreams. This is the current market. A year or two from now I'll look back at this and be grateful I held out.

Anyone know where to locate a lunar rock trd pro in Cali or elsewhere I’d be willing to fly somewhere and do a road trip to avoid the crazy markups out here.

or get possibly get on short waitlist.

    thanks in advance.

Yep! I saw this and was gonna post it yesterday (but didn't get around to it).

I've bought new Toyotas (Tacomas & 4Runners) in 2008, 2015, 2019, 2020 & 2021 and Toyota of North Miami is CONSISTENTLY the most grossly overpriced, shady scumbags you can imagine!!

IMO go to Doral, Hollywood, Homestead, Al Hendrickson, or even drive up to Southern441 or, my favorite, Palm Beach Toyota instead.

Too bad some dealers seem to believe their business will prosper using fraud and deception. Vehicle buyers, especially enthusiasts, tend to have long memories.

all it takes is for someone to total your beloved 4Runner and insurance takes it back and cuts you a check and you’re unwilling to replace it with a Ford Explorer and BAM you’re faced with the choice of paying these prices or “settling” for something else

If you do pay the outrageous prices dealers are asking, make sure you get gap insurance cause if you finance it and prices drop and you wreck it, you could be left holding a payoff much more than it is worth.

Have a LR 4R hitting port tomorrow. Started looking around Washington at the end of April. Every dealership was at least 5k over. Best they could do was take a deposit, but that they couldn’t guarantee a LR and basically “I’d have to hit the lottery.” Mid June I got wind of of a dealership that had an allocation for one and headed strait down to talk in person. Put a deposit down and signed a contract containing a ridiculous mark up (15k). I have a feeling I jumped people on the waiting list. It sucks, but LR is worth it to us.

Found a unicorn after calling around but I am not able to commit since it’s in ND and I’m in Cali. For those interested Hit up Bradley at Cedric theel Toyota in ND. He has a LR available at msrp you can put a deposit on. Build starts 26th of this month he has the allocation and it should be ready by 9/26. Good luck boys. I also need to figure out how to smog one from out of state. Hoping someone can return the favor and give me the heads up if there’s one closer to Cali they come across.

This list would have saved me time. I live in SoCal and they are crazy. Longo was good on the MSRP but weren’t taking orders. Have one on the way @ MSRP at Auburn (Ca.) Toyota. In the pickup window but it hasn’t arrived yet. Will have to fly to Sacto to pick it up but that’s OK.

From speaking with Randy @ Freeman Toyota they’re supposedly going to be 5k on top of msrp for all 2022s Trd Pros

Wilsonville toyota still at MSRP for all trim levels.

Damian Lillard Toyota looks to be adding on weird accessories for venture trim and they don't have any TRDs for me to ask about, so no clue there, and trd ORP is still at msrp, so the rest are likely to be there too.

Oh man that sucks. They were one of the few dealers left that took pride in not marking up their vehicles.

OP says Sunnyvale Toyota is selling for MSRP but this is false. I just got asked to pay a $5k dealer markup on a venture edition at Sunnyvale Toyota.

I’m visiting Avondale Toyota in Phoenix - they don’t even have one new vehicle in their showroom. Crazy times. Here’s an example price: 2016 TRD Sport Tacoma 13,500 miles $42k (no-haggle price)

They will take a deposit and sell for MSRP (at least for an ORP).

Mountain States Toyota in Denver, TRD Pros @ MSRP. Just picked mine up today but there is a waiting list. Took me 4.5 months from start to finish.

That’s disappointing to hear. Their whole “simple pricing” strategy promises new vehicles at or below MSRP. If I were you, I’d show the salesperson or manager their own website and make them honor what it says on there.

A local dealer here in St. Louis just posted a 2020 TRD/ORP/MR with 13k miles for $52,900.00. Not kidding. That's 10-grand more than I paid for my identical 2021 new. LOL

    Really?

That sucks... they were one of the few dealers that did not charge markups even on TRD pro models.

When used 4Runners are selling for more to than new MSRP, it makes sense for them them to mark up new ones to keep the prices in line with new and used prices.

True. I paid 44k for a new fully loaded 2020 Venture that was close to 48k at Stockton Toyota last July. Drove 13k miles on it and got offered 48k by Carvana yesterday. Def supply and demand. Now if I pull the trigger, what else could I buy during this unstable market?

This 40% reduction is serious. When I had to replace my totaled KDSS ORP with 600 miles, I was very lucky to get right into a Venture. Truth is the parts shortages are just now hitting Toyota after moving past "Just in Time" manufacturing after the megaquake that brought devastation to Fukushima. A combination of lockdown, stimulus madness, and so on, and....
