I was tired from all the work but I packed along some extra patience and tried to install a Sprint Booster this evening in a 2018 TRD Premium. All the videos basically say "simply remove the wire harness from the gas pedal." "Simply" being the operative word. On this 2018 if there's a release lever, it's hidden on the back side of the plug where you cannot see it.

I'll got at it again in the morning. Perhaps mini vise grips will serve as a third hand. Until then, any advice on how to remove this harness plug?

Just release the tab and it comes off in seconds

    It's a long list...
@GrayGhost is correct, press down on the tab. It also helps to work the connector left to right as you pull it of the accelerator pedal assembly. Whatever you do, don't use vice grips. You might damage a wire or the connector.

Unfortunately, it's 2-nil in favor of the pedal harness. If only the release was on the outer side so you could see it.
I've tried sticky gloves for grip and little flat tools to try to depress the tab.
I'm about two hours into this and am tempted to remove the gas pedal - it appears there's a single 10mm nut/bolt on each side of the pedal bracket holding it to the firewall, but requires a deep well socket.

    Round 3 and GOALLLL!

The combination of threatening the pedal with disassembly and a dentist's mirror so I could clearly see the back of the connector and exactly where to depress finally enabled me to remove the connector and install the Sprint Booster.

I had the same frustration with installing mine. Just couldn’t seem to get my finger on the tab, but finally got it.

I got to test drive the Sprint Booster for the first time today and it was well worth the struggle to install it.
It was fun to comparison test it in "OFF" mode, then switch to "SPORT 5" and finally to "RACE 7"
    Big, big difference in responsiveness.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Same here. Had to take a couple tries at it.

    I keep mine in Red/Race 6.

It took me a couple of tries and the stringing of some off color words but I did get it done and am enjoying the response!

I am having this same issue. Any tips on where to depress? Can’t seem to get it to release.

If you can't figure out how to unclip the harness, you should bring it to a shop.

As I sit here, laying on the floor of my 4R, I am comforted that I am not the only one to struggle with this.

It's a confined space where you can't always get your head in the best position to see where you want to see. Then, you think you've identified a good place to get line of sight to your target, something punches you in the back of the head as you move toward it. And there isn't room for anyone to help you.

this made me chuckle. I fortunately got it, but wow, I’m gonna be sore tomorrow from contorting myself. I also hope I didn’t zip tie it to anything important. ALSO, I’m ready to rip out my landscaping for just being a general pain in the rear. Adding pics of what it looks like pre-release in case it helps anyone else.

Hi guys, so I ran into the same issue with getting that plug off. What worked for me was grabbing a leather work glove and that seemed to give me a little more leverage on the tab because you really need to press hard on it. But once you get pressed hard enough it does slide right off. Hope this helps.
