    Edit - Update 1/23/21
To me it’s quiet as the TRD system but couldn't get it to drone. Highway cruising 55, 65, 75, 85 was comfortable with a very mild sound but by no means loud. Bottom line when driving normal it sounds very good with a nice tone. If you floor it the system is loud, defiantly not a V8 sound but sounds pretty good and best (that I've heard) for this engine.
I drove for awhile with the windows down and floored it from stopped and rolling punches... similar to the TRD system the cab gets a very slight hint of exhaust but far better than stock. Driving normal I did not smell any.
    Bottom line? Thumbs up
This system caught my eye when it was 1st rumored as they advertise no drone. I had the TRD exhaust on my 19 orp and again on the 20 pro. Sounded nice until driving up an incline or real bad when loaded down or towing! In Chicago I really don't overland so for those that do, an added bonus is the highest ground clearance you can get on a runner.

Initial post below, ignore my initial review as I found out what was wrong.

I didn't want to clog up the TRD thread.
Really hoping this has no drone as I ordered it on release day Monday so I'll chime back in after the install to let you know

    Heres a quote from them-
    • Versatile Tuning & No Drone Technology:MagnaFlow hasn’t solely focused on improving utility and performance, but road manners as well. Every Overland Series exhaust system incorporates MagnaFlow’s new No Drone Technology (NDT). NDT quarter-wave resonators work their magic by cancelling out the droning noises that can sometimes occur in aftermarket exhausts, allowing Magnaflow to offer a system that improves performance both on and off-road while maintaining a calm and relaxed ambience in the interior for long road trips to your ultimate wilderness destinations (or even mundane highway commutes).

I looked into this a lot back when my exhaust was stock. I ended up going the cheap route and just welded a magnaflow into the stock piping.

I'm happy with my set up but I'm very curious to get some audio revving and under load from yours when you get it installed.

I'll be honest it sounds exactly like mine, but I listen to loud noises for a living so I'm probably a terrible judge haha

I do like the piping exit however. Nice to see a company not hanging some big ass chrome pipes low.

Would LOVE to know if this setup resolves the sulphur exhaust fume/rear window issue.

Do you think this would marry up to the URD Y pipe?

They say yes on the window down. I know with the TRD Pro alittle comes in but way less then stock.
Regarding the URD pipe sorry I have no idea.
Should know soon, FedEx has been sitting on this so not sure when it will arrive. It shipped last Monday and is touring the country for some dumb reason

Hopefully they're referring to optimal ground clearance and lack of drone, rather than just trying to cash in on the current popularity of car-camping (alright overlanding).

I'm looking forward to a review of the system from @ForRun .

I had a Magnaflow muffler on my Supra, and it sounded glorious!

"Overland" is the off-road enthusiast's version of the gun enthusiast's "tactical". Useage of the term let's other's know you are a little special, lol.

Took it for a 45 minute ride both hwy and in town. Sounds great when it starts up. Sounds great in town driving with a feather foot. Basically anything over 1300 to 1400rpm it makes it so bluetooth is unusable and the sound in the cab and down right bad. set the cruise at 55 brings me to 1500rpm, bluetooth not usable and drive is obnoxious... soon as you hit an incline..Drone! No way would a road trip be pleasant. Rig is totally unloaded and I'm not gonna waste my time hooking up the trailer. Not sure what they were thinking?
The TRD system drones "yes" but the overall driving experience is better.
The good? Starting the rig sounds bad ass, idling through town sounds good and coasting up to a stop light when it down shifts sounds awesome and at a stop light you can hear the engine run, zero exhaust.
Can't answer the smell in the back window deal as it's 25 outside. Tried it one time and aside from cold all my crap started blowing all over the cab so had to shut the windows!

I noticed in the installation guide there are 3 different configurations. Did you install it with the "NDT" chamber?

Yes, even checked for leaks when I got home. It's fine.
The NDT chamber is nothing but a can. Not alot of tech built in

Shame. That 2nd chamber is called a Helmholtz chamber designed by......yeah, you know. Supposedly, if you make the pipe to the chamber the same length as the tailpipe, the chamber cancels out drone. Supposedly, yet.....

    Just throwing this out here.
What does not work for me maybe someones loves the sound. Many like the Gibson, Borla etc but a guy with Gibson heard my pro TRD last year and threw his in the garbage, went TRD and despite the drone, loves it and still does.
I had F-150's with the V6 eco and no one on that forum including myself ever deep down liked a V6 catback. 2 guys I know dumped the eco despite loving the power and went to the 5.0 strictly for a decent sound.
Actually I'm a fan of the 60's and 70s rig, build the block, cam, headers intake manifold, carb, hooker headers and bam, outstanding! Didn't expect this to do that but hey, a little rumble would make this old man feel like the ole days, kinda.

I don’t know why people put exhausts on these things. At the end of the day it’s always gonna sound like a v6 lol

I can't see how long the muffler is with this kit, but I originally had a 16" Magnaflow put on and it had way too much drone for me. I had them switch to a 24" and it's perfect. $140 welded on by a local muffler shop.

I tend to agree. But, some V6's sound pretty good.

I put a Magnaflow setup on my '03 V8 and the drone made me hate it. I switched to a Gibson muffler and added a resonator tip, and it was tolerable.

I'm pretty convinced I'll keep this one stock forever. There's nothing much more annoying than exhaust drone when you're driving all day.

Sorry to hear about the exhaust, OP. We appreciate you being the guinea pig, for sure! I was skeptical too when I saw someone here announce it. From your review, it sounds like guys that want a loud exhaust would love it. I'm past those days personally.. barely.. ha

I'm with you, there's nothing like the sound of a big V8. That's my preferred sound as well.

That said, there's no way the 6cyl is going to come close to replicating that sound. Personally, I don't want to hear the V6, AT ALL, haha.

Does anyone make a QUIETER exhaust? Or an additional sound insulation for the cabin? Even stock, I find the amount of engine noise I get in the cabin annoying. In my LS1 car I love the sound of the motor, in the 4R, not so much.

But that's just my .02, I know some people like it. To each their own.

Agreed and will add the 370.

And, I am the same about loud exhaust. On a second vehicle, maybe. But, it would drive me nuts on road trips and off-road.

That’s weird. The whole selling point of this system was “no drone”! WTF MagnaFlow.

There will surely be guys who run this exhaust and claim "no drone." Drone is in the eye (ear) of the beholder I suppose lol. "Drone" is the key word on the internet with exhaust these days, so of course it will work its way into the marketing.

I have to retract my initial review of this system and owe Magnaflow an apology.
Buddy wanted to hear it, said it can’t be that bad so I put it back on & went for a ride. Still sucked, droned etc. Get back and he crawls under, and said the clamps are loose and points out the gap was not closed. I didn’t understand as I tightened them to spec (40-45lb)
He went home, grabs his torque wrench and I learned my brand new (never used) torque wrench is way off so he re-torqued them and they were way loose.
Went for a spin and what a difference!
Thumbs up
