I do not remember cost but heard the replacement is ridiculously expensive in the thousands.
Best bet would be post a wanted to buy both here and another large 4runner forum. Lots of people go aftermarket.
If that doesn't pan out, junk yard or it may be cheaper to go aftermarket.
    Good luck

    It's a long list...
You will need to replace the digitizer panel that lays over the touch screeen. Google Toyota 4Runner 6.1” digitizer JBL replacement. You should find the part you are looking for. Shouldn’t cost more that $100 and can be done yourself in an hour.

Welcome from Wisconsin! About the radio... ya, I heard they were stupid expensive when we bought a '17 Tacoma, so we put "extended warranty" on the truck, luckily never a mishap with the radio, so now with the '20 4Runner my thought is, if you could fix it for a little.... fine. If not.. aftermarket would be the ticket. Old Red has the answer in post #6, very cheap fix considering the alternatives.

Just wanted to revive this old thread. I recently fixed the digitizer on my unit as it cracked and was unusable. $20 part from eBay, 30 minutes later it’s fixed and working properly. Inexpensive repair for an expensive unit.

How much of the dash do you have to un-install? Is is just the plastic surrounding the screen?

Yeah the head unit itself is attached to the whole control panel which is held in by 4 bolts, and then just unplug all the wiring in the back. Takes about 2 minutes to get the head unit out of the vehicle.
