Ok, my wife bent the REAR DRIVER door backwards while exiting the garage. The entire door needs replacing. I've already found one off the same color I just need to install it. I'm sure I can stumble my way through most of it but i'd love real advise from someone who has actually done it. The used door I got came with the hinges still on.

by the way we just got this truck 6months ago and love it! Think I want one too!

    Thanks for any help!

It's possible no one here has had to do this before so they have nothing of value to contribute. If you could follow up with how it went (and any pitfalls) that would be helpful for the next guy!

I don't have much to contribute other than Good Luck! If I had to guess, there's going to be connectors for the wiring but whether they're inside the door itself or under the dash is anyone's guess. Shouldn't be too hard though. Disconnect the wiring, remove the door, put new door on, connect wiring, line it up, tighten it down.

There is not much to it. I imagine you can find wiring plugs (power windows and locks) behind the plastic pillar trim. A ratcheting box-end wrench would make quick work of the hinge bolts in the tight area of the door jamb. Fish the wiring out first and then unbolt the door with an extra set of hands to help out.

as others have said, take your time and check gaps, it should be pretty easy to bolt in and go and have it look right, but sometimes parts aren't totally perfect and may need some adjustment

If the hinges didn't get tweaked, I would unbolt the door from the hinges, not the hinges from the jamb. The replacement door should line right up. This is how I swap my full doors and tube doors on my 1st gen, just unbolt them from the hinges.

Oh well no biggie. Mark the locations of the hinges before you pull them, this may help line up the replacement.

Way easier than expect guys. The hard thing for me was removing the outer door molding since it was one year off and didn't match(was to small). New clips just arrived for that. Also swapped out the inner door panel which was simple. Basically if the door is closing to low then loosen the bolts a bit and move up. Then tighten. Easy. Probably why there is nothing on it. Simple. 4 bolts and a plug which is in the chassis not the door.

    Work in progress!
I have two second gens, but no 4th gen, so there wasn't much for me to contribute.
But I found your conversation with yourself very entertaining.
