What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Just picked up a Yeti GOBOX 60 GEAR CASE for gear. Comes with one vertical divider, one tray, and the netting organizer. Completely waterproof (submersible), dust proof, and drop proof with a 5 year warranty. Considered Pelican and Roam but this had more internal space and organization for the money. Purchased an extra tray.

 

What does it actually do?

Which kit/part number did you get. They only make them officially for the Tacomas. Is it working well? Just to be clear, it only works if you push the button, it is not always on in the back.

 

Yeah that new cutout emblem is much cleaner, I would've had to paint that old emblem black to hide that chrome..

 

Started changing the thread on a new steering wheel. Now just waiting for a 4R Legend to sell some parts and info.

 

Installed my freshly painted / body color matched roof rack. Oh, and new brackets to lower and extend the running boards to make getting in easier for my wife.

 

Received and installed the rear cargo storage bag. Great fit and allowed me to remove another bag I had laying in the back that had tow straps, jumper cables, med kit, etc. stored it in.

They live in a beautiful area of Columbia I don't think I could get them back to the USA.

 

CR2405, I think it's the only model they sell. Reviews stated it works in 4runner, and indeed it does. Yes, the truck must be on and you must push the button.

This is one of the things I really want to do for the man/machine interface on the Runner.
Heated would be nice, as well, but I am not going near anything CTAH sells. That doods YT videos trip my Spiddy senses.
Pretty sure I saw someone on here working on a wheel kit or at least instructions for a heated wheel.

Oh I’m not going near CTH. I’m waiting for OldReds4R to sell the harness and instructions. So far I have the wheel, clock spring and button. I need the harness and I believe a relay.

 

Yea. Struggle to justify anything for trips as I only go out 1-2 times a year. This seems to be a nice middle ground. Their coolers last forever. Hoping this does. Could probably be a little bigger.

Did you have any issues after installing the steering wheel? IE any lights coming on on the dash? I had my steering wheel off and had to replace the steering angle sensor as it triggered as I think I messed it up somehow and had an unwanted warning light come on.

 

I've had zero issues with it. It never triggered anything. Care is needed when dealing with the clock spring for sure.

I'd put this Steering wheel in my top 3 mods along with my Maggie and lift/wheels. It's one of the best things I've done.

 

Looking at 4Runners.org threads it looks like it is hit and miss on some 4Runners. I'm going to try it for sure! Thanks!

Let me know. I have a thread on that. Mine leaks regardless of what I try. It’s a 100% match in fit as stock, it’s OEM as well.

 

34" A/T4W's, spidytrax spacers, and IMS long travel kit installed on the front.

Rear IMS long travel and Apache rear links getting installed tomorrow. Along with extended brake lines and bump stops. Also installing some cali raised ditch lights.
Excited for a summer of wheeling.

 

Awesome. A few questions:

- works on 2023?
- is there an OEM version of this item?
- what the heck is the current sensor’s job in non-pro and non-limited trims? ORP have no auto dimming of any sort that I’m aware of.
- Our infotainment has a “Day Mode” button in display menu. Does this sensor effectively trigger this option? I manually go and press that in the infotainment to put the screen in day mode when headlights are on and it’s lights outside.
