As the last of the 5th Gen TRD Off road premiums near, the dealers are NOW adding up to 12k of add-on junk to maximized their profits. If you want one as time gets closer to the end of production - you may have no choice but to pay these ridiculous prices. The adjustments done at the port or dealership will soon be unavoidable. Go buy the last of the 5th gen now before you have to pay 75k for one out the door...

This is now happening across multiple dealerships and it is pure greed...IMHO

Not every dealership will do this silliness. Some may actually discount them near the end just to get rid of any that remain. In the last months of the GX460, some dealerships on the coasts were discounting units $10k...and folks like The Car Care Nut were bragging on Youtube videos in early 2023 how he got his 460 at MSRP. The situation can change quickly.

Sure, a fool and their money are easily parted but I wouldn't rush out and buy a 5th gen out of fear that the price will permanently skyrocket in the near future.

I knew the price of new 5th gen was going to see a significant increase. It's unfortunate some dealers are going to take advantage of this.

So the best way to deal with this is just don't buy one, but we all know how well that will go.

Tacoma's are in the same boat. High 50's close to 60K, this was for a SR5 after "dealership adjustment" and a state tax. Our 5th Gen. is going to last a loooooong time! Or at least until the dealership come to their senses!

Holy crap Batman, I’m glad I purchased when I did. I just looked at my past emails. I wire transferred the money for my new 4Runner on 02/19/2024. With a little grinding, not much, got 5% off of Msrp, approximately $2,500.00 off. Maybe the dead of winter is the sweet spot for purchasing a new vehicle.

Not many will buy the 'golf cart with bad-ass fenders concept'. The 6th Gen will go belly up on the heap of EPA failed mandates. IMHO :)

I wonder if that's some sort of error. The other 2 ORP they have in stock are regular price with no adjustment. I haven't seen any other dealerships in the Phx area mark them up, most are actually below sticker right now.

In my experience, good luck securing one of those prices. When I was GX shopping, there were a lot of units listed on places like cars.xom that showed massive discounts off of MSRP. Every time I contacted the dealership, the price was no longer valid or the unit was sold or it was only for in-state customers or any number of excuses. Maybe things have changed this Spring but I wouldn't trust those prices for a moment unless I had it in writing.

Yes they advertise these deals, and once you are in the chair they start pulling their bullshit. It would be refreshing to deal with honest dealerships.

Always possible these prices are misprints I guess you never know. Maybe they will modify at the dealer - if so it is what you have to pay I guess...

That's the key...get it in writing. Thats how I purchased my truck. Had the deal on the phone/email. Sticker was 66k and I offered 58k out the door. They called me back a few minutes later and sent the offer via email.

You do bring up a great point and when coming across dealerships that do this kind of practice turn them into the department of revenue for your state.
