I'm not a crawler so no need for a full on bumper replacement but I do want to get my spare out from under and at the same time have a swing away bicycle carrier.
I've looked at all the swing aways I can google and the Rigd catches my eye with one exception-the angled tire position.
When I put our Yakima spare tire bike carrier the bikes won't hang vertical becasue of the angled tire mount......
Then I found this product at Victory-
    https://www.victory4x4.com/product/UNI-TM.html
Other than the $100ish dollar penalty can any of you see a problem subbing out the Victory tire mount to get the bikes straighter?

Can you show us a picture? I'd like to better understand the challenge as I want a Rigd carrier.

Here's a pic borrowed from the internet showing my bike carrier, the Yakima.
You can see it is perfectly vertical.
And a pic of the Ultraswing with its angled tire mount.
If I put the Yakima bike carrier on the Ultraswing then mount the bicycles they'll
clang onto each other unless I put a spacer between the bikes.

I believe Rigd gives you the option on the angle of the tire mount. I don't see how that would affect the bike mount. They make an extension for the bike rack. Also, these guys are mtnbikers. He use to work with my buddy at his shop. This was developed so that he could off road and carry his bikes.

I just ordered a Rigd rear tire carrier two weeks ago. No need for an ultra heavy bumper, but wanted a true spare to match my tires and to get the spare out from underneath the 4R. The product looks well engineered and has gotten great reviews.

I didn't see the option for non-angled on their site...did i miss it?
Plus I e-mailed and asked but they never wrote back.

Thanks Cowboy, will do, and yes no need for full on rear bumper replacement.
with the aiden-james camera replacement,no problems with a 2021 I'd assume since so little changes between years.

I believe it will work just fine, as the relocation occurs completely in the rear.

I had better luck calling them. I do not believe there is any option to change the angle.

So I'm again back to using the Rigd but with the Victory tire mount.

Hey, on rear viewing I wonder if any 4R owners have considered/used a rear view mirror camera? We put one in our campervan which has far worse rear visibility
than the 4R would with a swing away tire mount.

I love how the picture shows the tire in front of the license plate. :D

I assume they have some sort of license plate mount option?

Thank you for the link! I'm going to have to figure out something for these 295's. I am not really keen on hanging it off the back of the 4runner, but I might not have many options.

I have researched the backup camera option from Rigd and that of Aiden James. The Rigd kit requires wiring be placed the length of the frame, brought into the cabin, routed under the plastic cover of the lower frame member along the drivers door, then underneath the dash, and finally wired into the head unit.

The Aiden James relocation is only wired into the existing wiring of the rear camera in the tailgate, and simply routed through the tailgate to the top, where it adhered to the bottom of the spoiler. It can be removed and put back at any time.

Since I pull a small trailer, this is a great option and simplifies the wiring.

The Rigd does have a place on lower frame to the right of the tire for relocating the license plate.

I believe the rigd ultraswing has another hitch located near the bottom so you can still use a tow hitch bike carrier.

I have the Rigd Multi-Fit and have used it on my 4Runner, Subaru Forester and my Honda Ridgeline. I bought the Multi-Fit vs the 4Runner specific version so that I can move it from one vehicle to another as needed. It is very well made and I’m happy with the purchase.

I use it for my spare tire as needed but most often i mount my “receiver mount” bike rack and it makes my bike rack a “swing away” that makes it easy to open the hatch or tailgate.

regarding the license plate relocation, I used a tag mount LED from etrailer.com and spliced to a trailer light pigtail so I can plug it in to my trailer light plug. Works great and makes the Ultra Swing easy to remove or move between vehicles....

it does block my backup camera and I’m planning to use the Aiden-James relocation kit in the 4Runner...

Make sure you are good with the view provided with this one before pulling the trigger. I didn't find it a good substitute for the OEM rear camera since most of the view was still taken up by the top of the spare unless angled in such a way that you don't get much help for close objects. And Aiden James return policy is pretty archaic. I was out $50 after returning in unused condition (I staged it without doing the actual install) in original packaging (shipping both ways and 20% restocking fee for an envelope...).

Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a pic of the view

This is how Aiden James looks like. Pros- It's easy to install and better than not having any camera. Cons - kind of obvious from the pic. o.jpg

I like this location. I plan use this location with my CTH anytime camera switch and AHD front and rear cameras.

Yes, this is the view I remember. Probably great if pulling a trailer or boat but not so much for parking, tight spots, etc
