I just ran wires down the gutters on either side.

Nice and clean. One has 2 wires inside, one has 3, so I was able to get 3 different switched lights up there.

Looks nice. I see the passenger side has 18awg. Is that a two or three conductor? You happen to know what the OD of the wire is that fits?

I got some 18-2 from Amazon last week. It was about 4.3mm OD

Would 18-4 fit in that gutter? I have 2 different pairs of 2 way DD’s off the back I’m still trying to figure out.

I think it's gonna stick out and not really fit in there. A single 18-2 probably fits well, but an 18-4 will likely be around .30" dia. The 18-4 might fit in the KC wire hider (8MM ID or .314").

Standard cb coax cable fits it perfectly, I’d say as long as it’s a contained wire set you could fit 1/4” diameter in there. Or a single 8guage wire

I disagree. The 18-2 and 18-3 are exactly the same diameter. You should just buy 18-4 from Amazon and see. You can return it.

Or run one up either side of the windshield. That's what I did. I have 3 different set of switch lights up there.

So I wish this thread stayed on point, if I could have run my wires down the windshield I would have, I used KC on both sides but wanted an alternative that fit better.

Sorry we disappointed you. The original post was for “other ideas” so we tried. There was no about “don’t tell me about about windshield gutters” criteria. Most of us aren’t mind readers.

Other options that are in the other threads on the topic.

1 drill a hole in your roof and use marine hardware

2 run it to the back out the rubber boot that passes wires between the hatch and then body.

What exactly isn't the wire hider doing for you?

A little off topic but those of you who run wires on the roof do you wrap the connections or wiring in anything like tesa or electrical tape?

See my link above - the stuff I got from Amazon had the wires already wrapped in a black jacket so no need.

Sherpa Crestone. Sherpa makes great stuff.
