Does anyone know what that broken piece of trim is called and where I might find a replacement. It’s been a thorn in my side since I got the truck. I did some searching awhile back and think I found it, shoulda bookmarked it, cause I’m coming up empty again.

I was scouting the local pick a parts and found a 92 exactly the same color as my truck, door even has the same interior color. Wouldn’t even have to paint it, literally a perfect match. They want $100 OTD.

I’d like to keep my original door though, so before I go get it anyone know what that piece is called.

    Thanks All.

They won't let you take the trim piece? Should be a way to replace it.

That piece is all part of the window gasket and track. It's all one piece, except for the lower piece that is part of the window felt. I have my old door still laying around the shop. I will look tomorrow and see if I still have it attached.

It’s a big PITA that for sure, I have 2 previous attempts trying to remove one from the local junkyard. I don’t think it can be done if you can’t get the door open or the window down which was the case both times for me.

I appreciate your gesture Fourtoad, let me know I’ll gladly pay you for it and for shipping. Sunday I may go get that door as I got tied up doing other stuff the last few days.

Yes, it is a PITA. I had to do it when my runner got crushed on a wreck. The donor door had the glass broken out so I had to transfer all the good stuff from my original door to the donor door. Like I said, not sue if I still have that part, but I will look when I am at the shop next.

What window do you need it for?

Drivers side rear passanger trim in not so good shape. Outer side looks good, but inner seal is split.

Hmmmm, mine is passenger rear door. I wonder if I could just remove the bad part and splice it in.

    Thinking out loud.

Thank you Fourtoad, your very kind to dig those out and offer to help. I’m going to pass because it’s the wrong side. If I tear my door down I only want to do it one time. I’ve been looking even the exploded views I can find don’t name that strip. Nearest description is it might be the window channel.

trihiker, the ones I have found, I’d pretty much have to smash the glass out to get them out. I asked guys at PAP they told me no.

Yes, I can tell you it would be most difficult to change, because it is all one big rubber piece.. How did yours get damaged?

It was that way when I got her, I have no idea. It’s really wedged in down near the corner too, I’ve tried with channel locks to pull it out and it’s not budging.

Yes, there is a tail in the front corner that goes down the window track to the bottom of the track. Changing it would require taking the door apart and removing the window and side triangle window. big job.
