Will 5th gen winch mounts fit? Are the frame bracket measurements equal?

Hello everybody, hope your 4runner is treating you well.

I'm adding a hidden winch behind my 2006 V8 bumper skin, and I like some of the 5th gen mounting options more. Do the 5th gen bumper mounting points have the same measurements as the 4th gen? Yes, they changed some things but will the holes line up properly? In photos, the bumper mounts and radiator supports look like they have the same measurements, but I can't find anything online that confirms this. I found the images of the 4th gen with the 5th gen front end swap, but no discussion on bumper compatability.

I've looked at the existing 4th gen options (Budbuilt, LFD, Lost Trails), but I like some 5th gen options I've found more. I understand it might take some mods on the bumper skin to fit, but I'm looking for confirmation that the bolt holes will line up properly.

If the 5th gen doesn't fit, I may go with one made for the FJ Cruiser, as their front frames appear identical with 4th gen. They even have the same annoying AC line hanging out in mid-air.

I searched for a couple days before posting this, thanks for any advice!

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I can strongly recommend Lost Trails if you decide to go with a 4th Gen option. Terrific product, perfect fit, looks factory imo, great customer service, and they have some pretty nice discounts on occasion.

Very nice! I wont be buying that one, but I'm happy to see it live up to its website. It definitely looks great.

I'm going for more hidden, and integrating it with my SRQ Fabrications recovery points. I could fab one up and have it locally welded, which would total about half the price of the Lost Trails. Since that's a kindof a pita, some of the less expensive 5th gen or FJ mounts would be worth the slightly higher price (compared to homemade), and easily tie in with my current setup with some mods.

Lol, looks like I might need to crawl around a parking lot with a tape measure. The bolt holes are likely compatible, but I need to confirm the widths between bumper mount brackets are the same.

You might look for a 4Runner owners group on Facebook. I’m sure somebody would measure them for you.
