New 4Runner owner here. Bought a used ‘10 with 117K for my son who will be driving in 6 months. Looking for suggestions on wider rims and tires first. Any help much appreciated.

My family has a house in the four wheel drive area of the Outer Banks. We drive on the beach daily. My previous vehicle , a Sequoia, had a wider rim at 8 inches. The 7 inch rim and tire will have less foot print in the sand.

You could probably go up to 275/55’s on the stock wheels. Or get 17” wheels.
