I dont understand with the 10 minimum post before listing something for sale.
I have been selling for 10 plus years online. I have never heard of that.
I have over 1200 plus positive feedback on Ebay. 100 plus positive feedback on facebook marketplace mercari etc.
I would like to list some headlights. :(

My guess is that this site wants people to engage in the forums and be a legitimate member of the community before coming here just to sell something. Seems like it's probably a bit stricter than it should be, but I don't know if there's an issue with spam here.

It’s so people don’t spam the forum. You don’t need to sell stuff on a forum your not actively a part of.

i get that but offerup is full of scammers. Craigslist the same. There isnt a limit. Those listings get flagged or blocked. If youre a legit seller it shouldnt matter. So now that i have 12 posts i am legal?? haha

This is primarily an owners forum, not a marketplace.

Every forum I've seen has a 10 post minimum. If you been selling for 10 years you should of seen this before no question.

Might as well keep selling stuff there, then. ;)

It's 50 on Tacomaworld. Seems pretty lenient to me.

The limit also helps with people not getting scammed. People kinda get to know each other on a forum. And after awhile you’re kind of like friends. And you feel like you can trust people. People are distrustful of sellers with few posts.

The biggest thing is buyer protection. We are not CL. We try to look out for our member. 9/10 times, we get dragged in the middle to help.

For what it's worth, I'm glad it's 10. I was able to come up with 10 things to contribute and then found success at the marketplace. I don't know a lot about 4Runners, but am enthusiastic about them, and love to contribute. However, it took me awhile to reach 50 posts (although I wasn't particularly trying) due to my limited knowledge. I see the benefit of the 10 post rule for sure.

I’m with you. A lot people like me don’t throw bs into the forum just to bs. I’ve been a member for a couple of years, read the questions and if I can help I do. I’m on the forum probably everyday but I don’t throw useless information “except this one” just to receive my ten post limit or to brag how many posts I have. I would think the forum staff should be able to see how often a person visits the site and that they are member and for how long use that as a marker.

One can post fairly often without throwing BS around on the forum. There's plenty of threads that one can comment on, and ask questions, plus you can post what you've accomplished on, or show off, your personal ride. The games are entertaining also.

I can't say every post I've made has helped someone with a dire need at the moment, but I've enjoyed myself, and plenty of feedback has been received from my posts. The ones I regretted, I deleted.

I wouldn't, however, join a forum just to place a for sale ad. Like has been said, there's plenty of online sites for that.
