Good Morning Old Farts, 21* balmy weather, going up to 40* Congratulations to University of Michigan on the NCAA Championship, even though I couldn’t watch it

 

I have a retired Marine Captain that lives in my neighborhood and he rode up with me to pick that thing up. Great conversation with an artillery Officer. I will be getting on the road at 0900 to take it back. The spousal unit refused to budge on the color. No matter what, it will be an outstanding day!

 

'Morning OF's. Shop work is not bad, at least that's what I keep telling myself! Around here the truck drivers are the mechanics on their own trucks, the theory: if you have to work on the truck you drive, you won't be abusing it because the maintenance is yours! Well that's the way it's been for years, I never did take into account the guy driving next to me in another truck beating the shit out of it and finding another job, yep, now the old truck driver gets to work on 2 trucks. I'll be OK, remember I promised not to whine too loudly? Ya, I'll just call it venting! How about the weather, not too bad, a bit cool, but do-able. Yesterday, my grand kids had a day off of school, they came over and did some chores around the yard.. most excellent, and they helped the wife with other things that need to be done and it's all nice that they helped Grandma with some stuff. Well it's time to report to the dungeon.. er I mean shop, you cats have a great day! See Ya

 

Good cold (freezing) morning...it is snowing , but I don't think for long...low key day for me today, meanwhile most of you are out and about "doing!" Here's to a real fine day everyone! ENJOY

 

The championship game was different from U of M's other games in the tournament. They only hit one or two three pointers beyond the arc out of the many attempts they made. It was a hard fought victory and a closer game than all the rest they played in the tournament. UConn is a tough opponent.

'Morning. Good things come to those who wait! Would you believe I get to haul 6-7 loads in the recently maintained dump truck? Awesome. Gets me out of the shop.. again awesome. But, the road weight restrictions are on all of the secondary roads, so that means I have to stay on state roads.. again awesome. Weather forecast looking good, highs in the 60's, some showers expected. Did anybody notice their yard appearing a little more green? It won't be long now and out come the mowers, I mean for some of us at least. Living in the Midwest is that way. I traveled a lot of the world, and keep coming back to where I grew up.. the homing instinct kind of. Above the dirt line today, going to get my truck fired up, Y'all have a fantastic day, I will. Morning Old Farts time to get on the treadmill and then get some chores done, but coffee first

 

Sure I was rooting for UConn, but a good game and fun to watch! Congrats to Michigan, what a team (NBA?!?) Remains very chilly this AM , but I see warm to hot temps coming next week, my personal whining will begin next week (Hot ), but I'll limit my comments Ha!

Sounds like a great day! I never planned on coming back home either, I planned on doing contract work in the Green zone in Afghanistan for an old Colonel I served with. Luck would be on my side and met my high school sweetheart and Bam, here I am. I can't complain, get to work from home and ride a computer all day. Have a great day!

Got back home to northern Michigan yesterday afternoon. Was hoping for more green in our yard, but it’s still mostly snow. Soon (I hope). Nice to get away but nice to get back as well. Our kids want us to move to NC, but I don’t. Not a fan of heat/humidity or crowds of people. I like our rural area even with the snow.

I left my 4runner at home, and took my wife’s GMC Acadia AT 4. Very comfortable for my 6 ft 6”, lots of room, and great mileage.

I planned on watching Michigan vrs Connecticut in a hotel room in Ohio but the game came on at 8:30 pm and I was out at 8, lol. So I recorded it to watch at home. Now my attention goes to the pistons.

Sanford. Our son met his wife there while in the army at fort Bragg, then chose to live in the area.

'Morning.. OF's. Mid 30's this morning, high of 50 something, more like what we expect this time of year in our area. Driving dump truck yesterday was incredible! When I was done for the day, my body felt like I'm supposed to put on another hundred miles or so, instead of feeling almost crippled by being on concrete in the shop. Today is going to be a similar thing... man, it feels good to back in the truck! You cats have a wonderful day, I'm heading that way also! See Ya

 

Greetings and good AM on this sunny N.E. Thursday, 30° heading to 50...I Love it! Work friend and colleague had passed away last week, went to calling hours and was nice to visit with their family and see a nice turn-out of visitors supporting the family. A signpost on the path of life...Enjoy each day (and night). Going to cruise the stonewalls today and do a "walnut shell" pick-up and general spring tidy up before the greenery really gets growing. Makes life easier in the summer if I get this done now...I like easier in the summer The dogs like it better too! Here's to a fine and healthy day y'all ENJOY!

'Morning. How many following Artemis? I am, and seem to have an excitement about their broadcasts back to earth, it kind of reminds me of yesteryear when Dad and I watched the Apollo mission land on the moon. I'm sure there's a certain group who believes the Apollo and Artemis missions were/and are being filmed on a back-lot movie set, but I prefer to believe, it's kind of like the Santa Claus thing I guess, anyway I pray for a safe return for the astronauts. Weather.. wow! we have it all here in Wis., looks like almost a week of rain showers and just 'sub-standard' weather. It's OK, I'll be alright. Smelt feed at the local VFW tonight, awesome. Mornin OFs! TGIF! Our schedule for patients yesterday totaled 54 patients.....2 of our Gen Z employees were 'just too tired' to come to work so we ran with 2 of us. Started at 7:30 and finished at 5:15. Was pooped when we finished! Another day.....think we have 56 patients on the schedule today. I'm gettin too old for this stuff! LOL Everyone have a good one and let's be safe out there!

I can't make that up! One that didn't show yesterday was laying her head on the counter saying how tired she was on wednesday....sent her to lunch early.....told her to get a bite to eat or take a nap.....she showed up late after lunch and then too tired to come in yesterday! This generation just doesn't get it!
