I had to look up FIB, up here it’s a O for the center letter, lol.

I’ve sent some time working in the area years ago. (palisades or whatever it's called now)

Yeah, me too. I was probably a FIB before there were FIBs. Although, we usually didn't get much further than the Indiana dunes. But this would have just been loud, stupid kids. Seems like now folks of all ages don't always know how to behave. Spent some couple of summers in SW Michigan at a YMCA summer camp. Good times.

Reading that really shocked me. It came on line in 1971 so a 55 year old nuke plant coming back on line. Crazy.

I was working there and staying in a hotel in Benton Harbor during the blizzard of 78. I94 and blue star highway were both shut down a couple days. Over time I’ve rented cabins and stayed in motels/hotels from Stevensville (are the A frame rentals still there?) to Saugatuck. And in Pullman on lower scott lake, all while working there.

The news has shown some pictures of the control room in the reopening process, it looks very 70’ish o_OA friend of mine was an electrician at Palisades, retired. They offered him huge money to come back to work, he couldn’t pass the money up, $108 an hour :eek:IMG_0855.jpg

Sorry to hear about the 75F, but I'm glad the doggy was unscathed. I remember the riots, National Guard troops turned me around in the middle of the street with the semi, supposed to deliver at Downey, anyway, your survival kit is more than adequate.

Good morning all, high around 60° today, my Jefe will have me outside soon working on the new sunroom build. She promises that when I am done building our home to her specs she will allow me to be officially retired and then can golf and fish (almost) whenever I want. The sunroom is the 2nd of four major rebuilds. I hope I can live long enough to retire. :)
    Blessings all

I completely understand. My Wife wanted to start a Christmas tree farm and I'm like, OK. Now she wants to add an AirBnB decorated Christmas theme all year around. I will be 65 when this madness finally ends.

We've stayed at a Xmas tree farm Airbnb in Jonesboro, AR. It's pretty neat! My daughter knows the owner and she has taken pictures there for kids proms/family Xmas pics/ etc. Looks like a lot of work to keep it running!

Good Morning Old Farts. Awoke to seeing the near full moon outside my window and watched it set behind the mountain across the way...took me that long to get outta bed! Feeling rather hungry so I brewed up a pot of coffee, set out a couple hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. Sunny days continue here, the mountains haven't gotten any new (appreciable) snowfall since just before Christmas with just a puff of the white stuff over three weeks ago. Hopefully we'll see some big storms come through in March like last year to make up for it. Snowpack currently a scant 38% of normal!

    Have a good day!

Good morning OF. Hoping to get called off this morning. Otherwise 30 mile drive on 1" of new snow. Plows have probably been out but I don't like driving in it. Furnace has been intermittent so gotta get that going again. Warmer weather is almost here.....

Morning Old Farts, 1F here as I check in this morning, supposed to get into the mid 20's, typical for here in Feb. Had a post prostate cancer check-up yesterday.. still cancer free, undetectable! Man, I love it when that happens. Life goes on, ice fishing, grandkids, I feel fortunate, you guys have a great day! BTW, any old ladies in the forum?
