Why is the sky blue and sunsets are red. Due to Raleigh scattering.
But in reality the dust/fog particles are orders of magnitude larger than molecules in the air, so you are probably right.

No, just going for the laugh. IRL I've read the whole thing and share similar views. But I work for the evil empire and already am cynical that we've long past our ability to own/manage any of our personal data.

ok fine. i was too lazy to puke a bunch of words out using a keyboard.

your argument of how light travels and then use of contrast is defining what penetration... is. so fog or rain reflects certain colors differently because of the wavelength (color) which the light travels. photons of light don't necessarily go further, but is scattered differently in which to human eyes is either glare or a few more feet of visibility :).

Thanks dude! Thats all I was asking for initially.

Again - white and yellow light are acting effectively the same.

The difference is how humans perceive it. The human eyes is more sensitive to yellow so the hardware in our heads can see contrast much better in yellow.

Its not really the light. Its us. The same way the sky isn't really the blue we see it as.

im sure there are more scientific explanations for the points we're trying to make. the knowledge i used is from LED and fiber optic experiments from college (not for studying illumination) but does fit in my illumination common sense.

Yellow and white are equally annoying when coming at ya.

Evidence: the Jeep-driving dirtbag coming at me yesterday afternoon with two light bars across his grille, one yellow and one white, and both of 'em lit up.

The good news, apparently, is you'll see less of the rain, snow, or dust particles between you and the offending oncomer if the lights are yellow.
