Where did the "Where is Borracho Loco?" Thread go?

I swear I searched every page of the forum. Were people really getting so riled up that it was removed?

We got out of hand and it was removed. I'm lucky I'm not in timeout (or maybe winter is still coming)

Does anyone recall who started that thread? Just curious if they disappeared also.

Wish they would have just deleted the political bullshit and left the rest. If he visits he won’t see how much we miss him and how many funny posts he inadvertently generated.

 

Hey everyone,
I know the forum has been a little too quiet lately, and I think I know why. I haven’t seen a single post from Borracho Loco in a while.
Love him or hate him, the man was a force of nature. He was absolutely loco—most of his builds seemed held together by zip ties, prayer, and sheer willpower, and his advice was usually terrifying. But he was also one of the most generous, knowledgeable, and passionate members we had. The place feels empty without his crazy stories and insane projects.
If anyone has heard from him, or if you, Borracho, are reading this—come back, man. We miss the chaos.

 

I'm fairly new here and all, but it seems to me that if the mods had put BL in time out for some reason, then one of them could have posted so in that thread, saving a lot of us a ton of unnecessary annoyance.

I never really saw BL as a source of chaos, and I do kinda miss his posts. Hang tough out there, BL, and come on back soon.

Too bad the other thread went south and the police on this site is kind of sensitive to some of the comments. Shame on them, yes you the moderators, because the comments were honest and the views of many, and nothing offensive IMHO.

 

If you go looking for his avatar if he was banned or something to that effect there used to be a Red line through name.

 

Not the mods fault. The rules are the rules and they only enforce them. It's really better that way - I'd rather them enforce the rules evenly than pick and choose whice ones they find offensive. Picking the ones they find offensive becomes selective censorship.

I do wish the other thread could have been scrubbed rather than nuked but again, that was my fault and others who didn't follow the rules. Let's just keep this one on topic so it doesn't happen again

 

It seems pretty shortsighted to remove an entire thread that actually has people participating in a discussion. Isn’t that the point of a forum? This place has been pretty dead lately other than oil change and tire size questions.

 

Couldn't agree more. The usual topics, 0w20, the latest video from the NUT, this tire or that other tire. And that's it. The 6th Geners are barely in here, a few post but not much. The borracho thread gave us a little bit of free air and some laughs, but somehow we have to be so proper and correct. I might just bail one of these days and go too like Borrachin!

Edit: if you are referring to the possibility of him being deployed, then never mind my previous statement.

 

My theory is that he had to go back on deployment given his IT background and all the drone fighting we have seen overseas. He said several times he had background in that space and I just wonder if he was asked to go.

 

Based on this idea, I think we may need to start a "Borracho Loco, thank you for your service! And, please get home safely!" thread.

 

We need to. And I started it a few weeks ago but it went south so fast.....it got shutdown pretty quickly. I even had a nice poll with questions and everything. But a few posts on the subjects we can't talk about got us a few of us hot and boom...

Respectfully, we can start as many threads about @Borracho Loco as we like.

Keep in mind, nobody would be forcing you to view, or contribute to this hypothetical thread.

But, it's a moot point anyway, as nobody can seem to confirm his whereabouts right now. So, a thread like I suggested would only be based on speculation at this point.

 

Respectfully, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. In reference to previously mention "hypothetical thread".

 

Again, if a topic or thread bothers you, you are welcome to ignore it. The rest of us will continue to talk about borracho Loco as much as we feel like.
