Finishing my 1gr-fe head gasket replacement, and I have this nipple and hose. I can't figure out where it goes. Anyone?

Maybe a coolant bypass or oil routing hose? It looks like one of the coolant hoses that come off the front of the water pump/thermostat housing but the nipple on the one side is throwing me off... hopefully someone else can place it

Yes, I placed miscellaneous parts I removed from the heads before taking them to be pressure tested. So it came off of one of the heads. I just don't see where. I'm hoping I don't have to do major disassembly. Fingers crossed

Maybe just a feed hose to the EGR valve?
Just a guess. Is your check engine light on?

I just replaced the head gaskets. I'll check the EGR, but I'm not confident that's it.

Anyone got diagrams that show the vacc and coolant systems on the 1gr-fe?

I'm not sure the nipple goes on that end of the hose. Actually, I'm not sure if it goes to that hose. I'll take pics of just the nipple and repost if I can't figure it out soon.

The nipple does seem out of place as there are indentations of where one of the crimp style clamps was stuck on the end..

Problem solved! There she sits under the cam sensor! Right exactly in the middle of the pic.
