    Toyota lists three compatible filters:
    87139-50100
    87139-52040
    87139-YZZ82

Now, as I remember it the OEM from the factory in Japan part numbers never include "YZZ." I think it was The Car Care Nut Channel on YouTube that referenced it when talking about brakes or something a little more serious.

My gut feeling is that the most expensive one is the allergen protecting filter. I recently had to make that choice for my mini fleet of RAV4s.

Bought an XTOOLs D7S. Car Care Nut, Crazy Scotty Kilmer and a few others highly recommend. I was not disappointed. Mostly got it to pin down a camshaft position sensor error on my wife's outback. Carista was only giving basic information. I also have a VCI cable and "free" copy of Toyota Tech Stream. Never bothered to load techstream based on problems folks have had. I could figure it out, I'm sure, but Xtools, seamless, so much easier. Plug into your ODBII port... scans everything. Bonus: you can add fifth wheel TPMS sensor easily, shows up on cluster display. If I get around to adding a matching fifth wheel and five tire rotation, I will do this. Was about $400. Worth it? To me, yes. Anything to avoid dealer, I will. I think this will program additional keys, too. It's the same one I saw my locksmith used to add a key to my F150.

Got new windshield for 2023 ORP with TSS @ less than 3k mi. Had 6”+ crack on driver’s side.

Chose to get glass replaced at reputable independent shop that I have used before.
Cost $100 deductible for glass and install. The shop doesn’t do calibration of TSS, so had that done at dealership ($1040 out of pocket): this cost was reimbursed in full from insurance.

Teton Workshop Red Shift knobs, Raptor lights, Baja Fog lights , Red Shackles, rear molle panels, black out lettering, blackout exhaust, fold down seat protective panels (rear seats), LED lights, Fog light brackets with Tri-Color lighting, Black front lower valance, TRD black rims, running boards, roof rack cross bars.
Probably one of the easiest modifications you can do. YouTube has a number of videos to watch if you wish. I did it. My panels came in a RAW aluminum (less weight). Spray painted them matted black.

What took the most time was deciding what, where and how to arrange the molle bags! :)

Originally had the Driver Side rear brake pad give up the ghost, which caused me to have to replace the caliper/pad/rotor and have the system bled. Did all that and during this trip, I was getting some bad squealing on that side and that brake was warmer than the other 3. Not like super hot but definitely warmer.

I thought TSS sensor is in the lower part of the grille, didn't know it has something to do with a glass ???

indeed there's a sensor on the windshield next to the rear view mirror. i dont know all of the functions for it, though. i assume auto high beam and speed limit sign reading if that's a feature in the 4R.

Whenever I have any windshield work done, I will always now go OEM at the dealership body shop... I believe it was bullet point 6 that the insurance company was concerned with.
    JTEBU5JR2L5779606 WINDSHIELD REPAIR MANUAL (1).png

Unfortunately, California's stranglehold on insurance companies has cut down on the number of available auto policies. Minimum deductibles have also climbed up for most companies. (i.e. Connect by AmFam is now up to $100 from $50 for modifications to existing policies and new policy sales have been stopped).

Jesus H. Christ y'all. I was bitching paying a little over $530 for a new windshield (and that INCLUDED recalibrating the TSS). But as someone posted earlier, I wish I didn't have the TSS. Not a fan of it. But it is what it is.

Since the 4R doesn't have all the safety and features that other models have with the optical system, I agree. I like safety, but it adds $1,800 to a proper windshield replacement, it also takes up valuable territory where a dash cam can be centered.

Auto headlights would have been a nice start.

Guess I'm old school. Mine has auto bright feature, but I leave it turned off. I live 5-10 mins from work, and never have a chance to use bright lights.

And most of the trips out into the county are short. Desoto Co. Is fairly populated, so usually have oncoming traffic to deal with.

I decided to change out the oem taillights last night and added Stealth taillights from 4runnerlifestyle. The smoked out tail lights with the led’s look great and a very easy install.

MESO slim key fob, no emergency key. Nice but I wish it wasn't fatter than stock. Add slightly thicker foam to keep the guts from rattling. It opens beer!

Gave up on the high level amp inputs and tried a Kicker Keyloc to flatten out the crazy factory signal. Luckily I ran an RCA along with the double speed cables anticipating it would come to this.

The PAC LPHTY02 harness was perfect for this application with modular breakouts for power+ground+remote, speaker ins, outs, and add on sub. Originally used a $10 cut-it-yourself harness for speakers only.

I'll try another auto-tune switching to the rear speaker outputs (less fullpass voodoo on them allegedly) and a lower max volume to see if I can do better.

They are. It took me 15 mins. 2 10mm screws on each light, detach the light bulbs and remove the power then pull off the oem lights and mount the new tail lights. Screw the 2 10mm bolts in, then plugin. Good to go.

Added some sound deadening on the hatch. Nothing excess, 2 full sheets on the inside of the outside sheet metal, while there, swapped the speakers to Infinity 6.5 and some sound deadening around the speakers.
I noticed that changing the hatch speakers does improve sound quality.

Funny you should post that. My neighbor 2 houses down has some type of VW sedan (newer model). It's been parked under a KC Chiefs tailgate tent past few days. I was outside yesterday messing around in the truck, and noticed he left the doors on his VW with the door panels off. He's been installing sound deadening to his doors (saw the "reflective foil" on an open door). He was outside and asked him how that was going for him. He said, "Ok, but a PITA." Left him be and went back inside.

The secret is not to go overboard. If you want to aim at every little nook and cranny, it's a PITA. When I did the doors, I removed the vapor barrier and added 3 whole sheets. Coverd about 65% and I was happy. It does give you a lot of cuts on your fingers and wrists.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Back when I had a 21' Tacoma, I had to replace my front windshield. Long story short a trucker had debris fall out of his dump bed and BAM, he fucked my window up big time. His company paid for it all and was easy to work with.

Safeflite replaced the windows and when I got the truck back, I got a print out showing that THEY recalibrated it. I had no idea, but there is a sensor in the area behind the rearview mirror. I never noticed it before the windshield replacement.

The trucking company that paid for it, paid almost $1700 (I think) cash to get it replaced.

Moral of the story: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

In this case, TSS should really be an OPTION. More stuff to go wrong. A simple windshield being replaced (even without insurance) prob at most is $350-500 (given size of windshield). But now it's specialized glass, sensors to be recalibrated, and windshield wipers that are heated (these I actually have used).

Good Lord, can you imagine the price of glass (anywhere) an luxury brand car (i.e. Porsche, Lambo, BMW, etc.)?

Nice, I intend to take that thing apart exactly once for killmat, speakers, and lights.
