Alpine ILX-507. Looks and sounds amazing.

Had some trouble getting the rear camera to work. So glad I purchased it from Crutchfield. They worked with me for about an hour and got it resolved!

Installed a full length Prinsu rack (non-drill) today! Super pleased with the way it came out. Fold-flat kayak racks installed right after. It was a good day!

Ohh..!! I wasn't planning to decide or tell anything like that on the video as no one with LED housing will go back to Halogen housing with LED bulbs. Atleast I won't. I was planing just to show how much drop in LEDs have improved mimicking LED housing cut off line. May be some where down the line I might buy a stock LED housing and stop my LED light testing.:D:D

Let me spend little more time and see how I feel. Very hard to tell.

    NICE...!!!!!
I'd really like to have a roof rack like that one day. If I get it I would definitely get a single row low profile stupid bright light bar near that wind deflector (or whatever that thing is called).

    Edit -
    Something like this-

Yeah we debated it and opted out of the light bar cutout option in favor of some pod ditch lights that are in the mail on the way right now. Still love the way they look with the light bar for sure!

Please share that info too. I was thinking to go for super low profile Baja S1 pods. Not sure if that would be waste of money since they are very small. Can't really judge by the youtube videos.

I’m usually a “name brand” kind of guy, but a buddy of mine has these off brand pods from eBay on his Tacoma and they’re super nice. For the price I couldn’t help it. Worst case I wasted $100 if I don’t like them long term

They look similar to my Nilight pods I had on my TRD ORP. Any mod I do I'm happy for a while but soon feel it could have been better. :(:(:(

Lot of work done today. Cat shield would be the last for today. Lot of videos to edit. Would take a while when editing is done. Here a pic for now.

I'm considering one of these too.

    How does it do with:

    - Glare?

    - polarized Sunglasses?

I installed my LFD crossbars on my 5th gen Toyota 4Runner today. I also installed the Maxtrax mounting pins in order to get the Maxtrax up on the roof.

Installing the mounting pins was a pain, but that's probably got more to do with how I had to dig up the right (or right enough) tools, the nuts are nylon lock nuts, the bolts coming from the bottom of the pins are really long (thankfully not too long but I had to use a deep socket), and doing the appropriate spacing between the bars.

Removing the stock crossbars wasn't too bad, but it was kind of annoying. Installing the new bars themselves was largely fine. The integrated wind fairing front crossbar turned out to be really easy to install even though the way you have to slot in some of the hardware into the factory roof rails is weird. I positioned it as far to the front as I could comfortably get it. The weather stripping doesn't seem to be concerningly tight on the paint. I actually left a towel between it and the paint, and I was able to shimmy the towel out without using too much force. The double wide rear crossbar took a little doing and redoing since I had to get the distance spaced out properly for the Maxtrax to mount, but it wasn't that bad. I just had to redo one of the bits of hardware in the side rail, and even that wasn't a big deal.

I gave it a test drive earlier, and everything seems to be holding together perfectly. I also stopped by the hardware store on the way home and got some basic locks and slip joint pliers to help me with turning the parts of the mounting tabs that secure or unsecure the Maxtrax. They're actually very hard to turn with just your fingers, so I got the pliers just to keep in my 4Runner primarily for this purpose.

There's a decent amount of space between the crossbars and the roof. I'll have to see if I can install my Rotopax mount without removing the rear double wide crossbar. I got that, the water Rotopax containers, and some other odds and ends from Desert Rat yesterday. I haven't even opened the box yet. I went RC racing last night, and I've had my hands full since this morning.

Using this wheel-mounted step thing and my LFD rock sliders really helped with the installation a lot. I was able to stand where I needed to be to do everything. Of course, I am by no means a professional. After I was done, I neglected to remove the step thing and began to back out of my driveway. The step thing got bent a little out of shape, but I think the LFD rock sliders paid off! The only things seriously damaged were the step thing and my pride. I was able to straighten out the step thing tonight, and I'll put it back in my 4Runner tomorrow.

I don't know if I'm going to get to do Mini Z RC racing tomorrow :( I didn't have time to prepare my cars today. I might even miss some of tonight's National Wrestling Alliance pay per view. I just want to plop down on my bed and sleep.

Added this today. Not as straightforward as I had hoped. Still in draft version, soldered an Arduino board and uploaded a simple program loop. Hoping to connect a small speaker to it as well to get the KITT scanner mode sound. I think the LEDs are too bright, so may change program to reduce brightness or try and add a tint film.

Mine were the same way. I found that by loosening the hex bolt on the top that you can adjust the amount of force needed to turn them.

Had the tires balanced and then washed the 4Runner. Was having the steering wobble and wanted to see if this would fix it. Seems to have done so. Felt much better and most of the wobble is gone.

Also removed the black wheel skins that came with it when we bought it. Looks much better in my opinion. 9DBC59B7-EF1B-4380-9685-A69BC956BBC8.jpg

I thought about messing with that bolt, but I didn't want to risk blowing the whole top off and having my Maxtrax land in someone's face. It's not like I'm going to be using the Maxtrax very much anyway. They're only for crawling out of the most challenging of mall parking lots :crapstorm:

I wish I had a better answer, but its only been on for a day or so. My sunglasses are prescription and not polarized. I only had my runner out yesterday for a short run around town. I didn't notice any issues. Ill try to update more soon.

Don't forget they are great for leveling your truck in the Starbucks parking lot, so your mocha latte doesn't spill... :D:evil:

Dude, I'm going to be hauling some serious mocha latte now. I got two of these Rotopax just for the mocha latte. I'm going to have so much mocha latte.

I also got one of these ARB winch dampers and a couple of soft shackles. The soft shackles are inside the pouch of the winch damper. I don't have a winch, but it's still good to put on a kinetic recovery rope thing for when you've got to rescue your mocha latte. With a short test drive, there's no rattling or anything with the winch damper hanging there. I probably wouldn't put anything heavier than the soft shackles in there since it's hanging from the shovel on the Quick Fists, so the D-rings remain elsewhere.

Took mine to the N GA mountains for about 20 miles of Forest Service roads. Pic is from the Springer Mountain trailhead parking lot. This is the starting point for the Appalachian Trail. There was some light snow…. Great way to spend part of the day…

Nothing to the 4Runner today. Installed the OEM running boards on the wife's Highlander. Was somewhat nice out and I knew these things would take a bit to install.

    None.
Got this far on my Ironman 4x4 Raid bumper and realized they sent me the wrong winch control box. I know stuff happens but still frustrating.

Not sure what to do with the fog light wiring harness yet.
