    Silly question on TPMS...
I transferred over the old ones when I got new wheels, wheels are black, TPMS is silver.
Do they make them in black?

I have done this when I am not in the mood to deal with the filter. I do short interval 3K changes for fuel dilution, very short trips, etc. though. So oldest filter will be is 7000 miles. It always looks exactly like the 3,000 mile filter.

I had the 10k (9857miles) maintenance service done today on my 2024 Limited. I did the 5k oil and filter myself last summer (when I was only 75 years old! Take that youngsters!), but took it to the Toyota dealership in Flagstaff for the oil and filter change and the 5 wheel tire AWD rotation (I put on 5 new Michelin Defenders at 5k miles to upgrade from the stock Yokohamas). They did a good job and have a great service department.

Even though I bought the Limited used with 1031 miles that came with 7 year Certified gold coverage from a Toyota dealership in North Dakota, they still gave me the 10k service for free, so I guess some free services are transferable? I am ready for the next 5k miles. I love this truck!

An easy one that was neglected for 10 years. Lifted off the center console to clean the area underneath it. Very dirty and used simply green on a cloth to wipe it down. Used some ear swabs to get into the really tight areas. Didn’t remove either shifter. Just worked around them since there’s plenty of room.

I guess I should have noticed before now, but just discovered these in the Styrofoam packaging that the Infinity Reference speakers came in:

    IMG_20260226_160010.jpg

I installed the speakers without these, and they sound great. Are these necessary?

They go in the + line to the speaker, filters out the low notes that a 3.5” speaker can’t play anyway. Saves the speaker from over excursion/burning out.

    I’d put them in asap.

Replaced my blown 2018 limited dash speakers with Kicker KSC270. I must say they sound a lot better than the junk stock ones.

If you think those sound good, you should do the Infinity speakers…..

The free service is from Toyota not the dealerships so yes it is transferable, just like the manufacturer's warranty :)

Changed all my fluids out except transmission fluid over the last week. Some much needed love. I've got a rock or something stuck between my rear left rotor and the shield that I need to get to, next.

Yup, if you don’t filter out the bass notes those little speakers don’t stand a chance! Anything below 200-300hz is impossible for a 3 1/2” speaker to reproduce accurately, but they’ll die trying.

Got the crossovers soldered in yesterday. However, had I known what a PITA that job would be, I'd have left in the Subaru tweeters. 20 years ago, I fell off a ladder and cut my left wrist, severing the nerves. It was repaired, but ever since, not much feeling in my left hand. Soldering is not recommended as a one handed job. Plus, my soldering iron is probably at least 20 years old. That's why I've always gravitated towards plug-n-play installations.

But it's done. I guess the sound improvement is worth all the trouble.

Yes, it's a pain to solder that crossover. That is why I bought this but never got around using it.

Hah! I have that same exact tool, but didn't even think of using it. I think falling off the ladder affected my brain also...

Diffs and transfer case got new juice this morning. Didn't have to use the old manual impact or valve grinding compound, very uneventful and boring.

Boring is good when it comes to fluid change. My front diff drain plug was stuck. I
Stripped it trying to get it out. Then broke my 10mm hex. It started leaking while tightening it again. While fighting with it, got fluid film that was on my frame all over my clothes. Down went Saturday.Had to take it to a local shop to get it done. A 15 min job turned into a 2 hour crap shoot.

Have had one of those for so many years maintaining helicopters ,then transitioned into Corp. Jet. That's a great tool/fixture for soldering.

I just ordered the gold plug. Will wait for the next change in about 30k miles. No point wasting that very expensive Redline.

Just replaced the side marker light.

Getting to that thing is more of a pain in the ass than it needs to be.
