My first post in a while!!!

My neighbor bought a Christmas gift for me. He wasn’t sure if I would like them. A few years back he bought a high visibility brake light bar on my Tacoma. It was a great, high quality item. Worked great on the dusty gravel roads of Wisconsin on group trips.
He decided to get something for the 4Runner.

    Merry Christmas to me!

IMG_2133.jpg I know most hate it.. My WIFE hates it!!!! She said it looks stupid and is glad she doesn’t drive it. Just For the record I didn’t really like the look but now I know it irritates her I love ‘em !!!!:stirthepot:

    Bring on the hate. :crapstorm:

Sometimes I love the little things that annoy the wife because it amuses me. Not sure the quality on these but as soon as the led lights stop working I’ll yank them off.

Wow! I poked around just a little bit there. I’ll look more at home. At work right now and it’s tough to navigate that on a phone screen.

Maybe it will help me in my suspension quest. I’m overwhelmed! So many choices!! I’m also a bit suspension-dumb… Shocks, springs, airbags, remote reservoirs, perches, collars, top hats, spacers, offset, UCAs, LCAs, what’s XREAS? Do I have it?, what’s KDSS?, Do I have it?, etc. :goingcrazy:

Yeah best viewed on a large(r) screen, I often have it open on my 32" wide screen... but anything above a non fold-able phone screen is suggested.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

We all side with your wife.

Fang lights (bad name by the way, they should be “tusks”) are the gay cousin to the retarded raptor lights.

Pulled the shift lever cover and adjusted the parking brake. It stills rolls in reverse but it stays put in drive. My fingers got too cold to do any more futzin'. Will finish when the weather gets warmer. My old hands have been frost bit too many times and they don't handle the cold very well.

I've started putting the transmission into Neutral, applying the parking brake and then shifting to Park. The truck holds alot better compared to applying the parking brake while the transmission is in Park.

that's how it should be done to begin with.

If you shift to Park first then apply parking brake, the load is on the transmission (not good).
So whenever parking brake is needed, ALWAYS shift to Neutral first, then apply parking brake, and finally shift into Park.

    What if you....

Apply the parking brake and then shift into park from drive (but you're fully stopped)?

About done with the storage platform. Added some 1/4" on the bottom and some cheap automotive carpet. Pretty happy with it.

Just need to figure out a way to bolt down the rear of the box (closest to the hatch) without drilling into the floor pan. I think I can run a piece of metal over to each of the rear tie-down bolt holes and then screw/ bolt the other end to the box.

I also need suggestions for a latch (two preferable). Doesn't need to be lockable, just something to hold it closed in case of an accident, excessive offroading etc. Any thoughts?

I had a person driving behind me tonight in a Tacoma with raptor lights, fang lights, fog lights and a center of the grill light bar all turned on and blinding the shit out of everyone. :annoyed:

To each their own. I'm sure there are people that love them both. I've seen them look cool on some rigs.

I found it was a hard habit to form, with all my previous vehicles and my other current car being manuals where it's just leave the transmission in 1st and yank the handbrake.
