I have a platform I built to level out the back. Because of this, most of the commercial all-weather trunk mats don't work because of the "ears".

I ended up buying this Grizzly truck bed mat from Home Depot and cut it to fit. It's a great product, thin all weather carpet that's a perfect match to the OEM carpet, backed by about 1/16" rubber sheet. It's also big enough to cut a second piece to go on the seat backs. I would def recommend to anyone looking for something similar!

Winter wheel & tire changeover day on the 4Runner and GR Corolla. This is my first winter with the GR, I'm really looking forward to having some fun with it in the snow with it's selectable diff modes.

Curious about the stock blades vs aftermarket. Do you like the stock blades? Do they do a good job?

I got a 2019 at the end of 2023 and just replaced my blades with RainX wipers and they are ok. I assumed I had the stock blades originally, but found they were not and it was cheaper/easier to go with aftermarket.

I like the idea of only replacing the rubber insert and even have a set of inserts. Is it worth getting the original blades?

I find I swap blades about once a year at most and might get 2 years out of them.

Me personally change these rubber inserts twice an year. I think you can get more life if you clean the blades, but I'm lazy. I like these rubber inserts on factory wiper frames in winter. They seem the clean better than after market frameless wipers.

On my previous 4Runner I used RainX frameless wiper blades (I forgot the model), I didn't like them as the mist like layer took more time to disappear than to my liking. Then immediately I switched to Bosch Icon. They were excellent in summer. They wipe the water really well and the mist like thing disappears with few milliseconds. After that set I used Bosch Envision (if I'm not mistaken that's the model name). I don't think I can find a difference in performance between Icon and Envision. But in winter time they didn't perform as good as stock wipers. I guess without a frame they are unable to keep equal pressure to wipe snow & ice.

On a minor note the stock wipers look low profile / looks good than Bosch Icon / Bosch Envision where the connecting part stick out more.

If I didn't have the factory wiper frames would I try to buy factory wiper frames? Maybe or maybe not. It's a hard decision imo. Wipers like Bosch Icon & Bosch Envision are pretty good and not a big deal in winter.

Pic when I had Bosch Envision wipers.

Oil change, lube drive shafts/ joints. Tire rotation- first time with the new wheels and tires. (posting maintenance here is like a log book for work done).

I removed the front two skid plates beforehand so I could get to the front driveshaft. Even with the access holes and oil drain tools, there's no denying the maintenance was easier with them off. Going to think about doing that bolt mod.

When rotating the tires, I had a realization that, if I ever had to use my spare, I better keep a set of OEM lug nuts in the car. The aftermarket wheel's lug nuts are a different design and I doubt they would work with the OEM spare.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I didn't do this to my 4Runner exactly, but I asked ChatGPT to paint it Voodoo Blue (the best color ever!), add a retro stripe and put white letter KO3's on it.

It looks just like I have always wanted it to look:

T4runner11 is correct, they're from the early Trail trim 4Runners. I actually have a 2nd set of rails that I got locally.

The hard part isn't really finding the rails or even the crossbars. It's the little brackets that attach the crossbars to the rails that are not available anymore. Those are next to impossible to find as they originally came with the roof rails themselves and were installed at Port and never had a part number assigned to them by Toyota.

I went through just about every brand out there, then ended up buying new oem wiper arms with inserts for the next time through one of the two local Toyota dealerships. I will stick with oem blade refills going forward. I got tired of guessing which aftermarket one would last, and always guessing wrong.

For the past 10 or so years, I replace the wiper inserts annually, then replace the whole arm assembly with blades every 3 years.
