Is it perfect? Nope. Scratches are fixed and now it matches the exterior. Also, keep in mind this high dollar paint booth, dry booth, and spray paint can can only look but SO GOOD :D yes that's an upside down trash can lol

This happened to me with a rental Hyundai Tucson. All 4 tires were showing the same PSI, yet the left rear tire was highlighted as being low.

Doesn’t the off color highlight mean that was the one programmed as spare tpms? Not sure but believe I read that somewhere?

I did a break job yesterday on my rig. I run the Powerbrake Kit which when it was launch a few years ago had some initial changes and still continues to evolve. I have put about 35k on the rotors and after much discussion with the vendor, we got to going back to a regular rotor without the cooling vanes or curves in them.
    Second Pic Break Job.jpg

It was my experience that the pads were starting to lay down material on the rotors right around where the vanes start. Maybe my theory, maybe not , who knows, but I did feel a little vibration at the wheel. Something like this:
    Worped Rotors part2.jpg

In any event, I got new rotors from the vendor and we worked out a "special warranty" trial deal, with the condition that I clean the hubs and measure runout in order to satisfy a clean surface. I went the extra mile and purchase the instrument (50 bucks) with a digital measurement and a magnetic holder to make sure I can measure runout to their spec which is less than or at a maximum of 0.001 inches / 0.03mm.

The following pics are the starting point and the cleaning sequence of the job.

Removing the old rotor and how it looked at the starting point:

    First pic break Job.jpg
Not bad for 35k IMO. Although this got me thinking :gossip:, I wonder if the vibrations that we all feel sometime "Pre-needle bearing" upgrades, also come from these hubs being full of rust and debris. When I was driving yesterday testing the 4R, at 60mph, my rig was SOLID, nothing on vibrations or anything, I could tell a difference. :dancingbacon:

Onto the cleaning sequence, I spent about 30 minutes with different tools and cleaners to get this to a place where it was shiny and rust free.
fifth pic break job part.jpg Third Pic Break Job part2.jpg six pic break job part2.jpg
I got the instrument there and measured between 0.01 and 0.02 on a full revolution and called it good. I used a special 3M scotch disc brush that goes right into the studs and obviusly a metal gentle brush for the rest of the hubs, break cleaner and removing dust as you go thru, and put everything back together. I was running late and didn't get a chance to get one pic of the new rotor :smack:as I was mounting things and rain was looking like it was coming so I got this one later on as I pulled into the garage.
    New Brakes.jpg
I took it for several runs slow:turtleride:, and fast,:mudding:and I think we are good to go for hopefully FOREVER on these rotors. I think this break kit is good and I have used it in challenging conditions and it has done good IMO. :)

I kept staring at the your swaybar disconnect. Even last Friday I was talking to my 4wd shop friend running without front swaybar when we were chit chatting at his shop. He said remove and do some test runs, learn to drive without.

On the same time he was talking how Dobinson MRR can be tuned to perfect ride comfort having 2 compression and 1 rebound adjustment.

Yeah, I would try and see if you can get use to driving like that without but my boss at home (wife) didn't like the lean around curves and just couldn't get use to it. I ended up doing the modification because why not, I got to have an excuse to do "another project":annoyed: on the 4R. And between us girls, it was difficult to do for a DIY like me. I spent a week with the 4R in the garage and $hit all over the floor, I could only work like 2hrs here and there after work and the weekends. It was challenging, I would go to a shop and get it done with the big boys on a proper lift. And then use it! Because I went on some trails the other day and totally forgot to disconnect it only until I got out and said oh crap, I forgot to disconnect the swaybar.

This is very cool and impressive your ability. I have to show this and ask if they can do it when I'm ready for the next project.

Last week with the school holidays I was on gravel roads with my kids for hours and hours. Even with softer swaybars when I go over whoops it was pretty hard inside. At 30-35mph can't see them on a gravel road to slow down. I guess no /disconnect swaybars would definitely give the shocks to work independently and freely and make the ride softer.

At least on my TRD Off-Road the yellow color means that tire's pressure is low. If the spare tire TPMS is activated the display shows all five tires.

Replaced the ball joints on the JBA UCAs today. They had quite a bit of play in them.

Circuit searched and wired grille lights to markers without accessing markers. Make sure you lube and seal the plugs shrink boot. They corrode fast behind the front grille.

Got a lil love tap this weekend either at Texas Roadhouse or Walmart. Grabbed some Griot’s compound and buffed the scratches/scuff out and touched the chip up with a Duplicolor pen. Turned out decent for what it was, still pretty clean for 3yrs 37k miles.

Thanks. I think I'm just bold enough to think that I can do this myself. I give myself a pep talk and watch the videos before these DIY deals but boy they have tested my patience and sometimes my abilities. Many of these things turn into multiple trips to autozone or finding some special tool and ultimately calling the neighboorhod calvery (the young teenagers) that come and say "Mr. the directions say do this first" and they come and help out while I'm scratching my head thinking why didn't I do this before! In all fairness, my motivation for trying to do these mods myself is just around knowing exactly what I did to Blue and being in tune with the way Blue should handle after the mod. In any event, the swaybar disconnect by APEX is a good product and there are several good videos on installation out there, I think if you are in and out of the trails enough, then it is worth having it. Look at the new models today, they all the ability to disconnect the sway bar with one click. All toyota has done is to put a little locking mechanism that opens and closes and that's all. This apex kit is the poorman's version IMO of the electronic version you have on the LC or the newest models of the 6G or 4G taco. Do it!

On my way into work this morning. You can see 2 that are yellow. This indicates which tires are low on pressure. Granted I keep these tires around 30-32 PSI (34” aftermarket MT tires) and when they get warm they show 30 PSI.
