I just picked up a 05 Sport V8 ( about a month ago). I just heard about the rear window/Rear defroster issues. What are the chances that it will shader on me being it has not shattered yet and it is almost 15 yrs old??

I'm guessing pretty low at this point if it hasn't already or... it has already happened and been repaired.:notsure:

    Probably like 100%

I kid, hopefully it doesn’t happen! Remember though, it’s an old used vehicle. Is there any preventative maintenance you can do? I’m in ageeance, if it hasn’t happened yet then signs look good for you!

I owned a 2005 4Runner for 14 years and didn't hear of, or experience, this situation. Seems a low probability event in my view.

It happened on my 07 about 3 weeks ago. Went outside to glass all over the driveway and in the cargo area.
    It can still happen.

Humm... That sucks! I called the dealer and they said that the warranty for this has expired on my vehicle. And that double SUCKS!! Guess I won't use my rear defroster.
