In the market for some sliders. Have done a lot of research and have landed on either Westcott Designs or C4 Fab.

have seen a ton of reviews for Westcott but not many for C4.

anyone have any input or experience with either of these?

I have Westcott sliders. 0 degree with the kick out and top plates. Would probably go without the plates if I did it again as they trap mud. Hit a few rocks and held up well. Had to use a hi lift on them to change a rear tire. It flexed but held the 4Runner up well.

Even though you asked about opinions on two, you'll probably get as many recommendations for sliders as there are members on this forum. I'd say pick the one that's the best price with the lowest shipping cost and go for it.

Depending on where you live, dont be shocked if they rust after 1 year. It happens regardless of brand name and you should plan on them being a maintenance item. Especially if you've removed the mud flaps. Meaning, take them off strip them down and repaint. Im on year 3 of Clai Raised sliders and ive already had to do it and it looks like ill be doing it again when the weather warms up. This time, Im taking them to a shop to get sandblasted.

I like my RCI flat skids with top plates. Note the top plates can be removed for cleaning as they aren’t welded on, small bolts hold them in place.

I have Westcott and I essentially chose them because they are local to me and I could pick up and avoid shipping costs. C4 is also now local but was not at the time. When I was shopping I thought all the fabricators were equally good. Differences were mostly a matter of opinion or personal taste. I would try to find someone local-ish that you can pick up from if possible.

That said, I notice a couple design points of C4 that I don't care for. And I generally like C4 stuff.

Please note the open ended design on the rear that could allow rocks to get between the slider and truck body. They also have bolt/screw down top plates (if you choose plates) which in my mind could be rust points. Probably both of those concerns are very unlikely and some folks may prefer the bolt on plates. But again, for me it was about avoiding the shipping.

Im in NC so rust isn’t a huge problem. That said, i totally expect all my steel accessories to need to be re finished every so often and I plan do so.

The more I looked at C4, I noticed some things I didn’t particularly like either. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go with westcott designs. Now just gotta decide on flat or angled lol

Must not be in Raleigh then, they once again heavily brined all of the roads ahead of today’s weather.

Im in Charlotte. They do the bare minimum in terms of salting the roads lol. And when they do, I am quick to wash of the under body. Of course rust happens here, it’s just not as bad as others up north or at the beach.

I went with flat and to this day I'm not sure if I made the right choice. Every time I stand on them for any length of time fiddling with something on the roof I am happy with my choice. But aesthetically, every time I see nice tucked up sliders, I wonder...

I don’t regret my flat RCI sliders, still get added protection and they do serve as a step on my lifted truck.
