    Thanks Dude!
He also installed this switch (to control the rear window from the cargo area) for me while he was at it. I HIGHLY recommend this mod if anyone plans on sleeping in thier Runner!

Fancy! I like it! You should do the power antenna mod. Really really like it. I put mine on a kill switch so it can be down when the radios on. Useful for off roading or if it snows and the antenna gets iced over. Or if I'm listening to Bluetooth audio. Highly recommend the mod. Was easy to do.

    Agreed!

With how cheap 12v bluetooth fm transmitters are, it makes sense the OEM head unit is more than enough and adds value.

Yep. Don't get me wrong, I love my Bluetooth capable stereo. Its really great. But I really like the OEM head unit too and I agree it adds value. Its so hard to find a 2nd gen with the OEM head unit anymore, so when I see one that's a major selling point (at least for me).

My truck came with that exact head unit in that Sequoia. It was installed as a dealer accessory upgrade paid by the original owner when new. The truck was stolen and joyrided just a few months after I got it. Of course the thieves stole out that head unit before they abandoned the truck. They broke the bezel and panels and cut the harness because they wouldn't be garbage scum if they didn't.

    I'm utterly amazed at how few 2nd gen 4Runners are on the road. There's a higher chance of seeing a 2nd gen Pickup over a 4Runner. When I go to the city, this is how I categorize the 4Runner gens on a scale of 1%-100% (with 100% the most popular);
    1st Gen - 0%
    2nd Gen - 1%
    3rd Gen - 20%
    4th Gen - 40%
    5th Gen - 98%
    6th Gen - 5%

And I have my '94 parts 4Runner. It has 433,600 (ish) kilometers on it, so I know its served its time. The motor blew up in it, and the body is rusted beyond repair, so its officially a parts unit. As much as I'd like to get it back on the road, I'm not planning to, because it would need a completely new body and motor, and a ton of work. Surprising though, the frame is actually REALLY good and in very usable shape.

I'd have agree with you on that. I'm on the west coast of the US. However, I think you may have meant 3rd Gen Pickups...I dunno.

I know of TWO 1st Gens in my neighborhood. I almost never see any except for them.
    2nd Gens...maybe once in a great while.
    3rd Gens...here and there.
    4th Gens....meh, they're out there. But hardly EVER a V8.
5th's...ALL OVER THE PLACE! Especially Jerry canned, Ladder-Racked and lifted Grocery Getters that are more polished than the Ferrari's that I see.
⁶Th's...All of the Sporty-Clenching to their youth-upper-class Soccer Mom's and Dad's that couldn't quite afford Sequoia's are starting to get em. (That small 6 wasn't a typo, I've got my issues with em...but that's just me)

In regards to your 94' parts rig...hang on to that frame and dash plate with the VIN (if it's there). It's the makings for ANY kind of license-able build that someone has the resources for.

    Happy Running!

Yeah whatever gen the 1990-95 Pickup is lol
Good to know. The dash plate is still there. And I don't plan on letting this 4Runner go either lol! I like 4Runners too much. I use the parts I need, and sell what I don't, which is honestly a good side business because lots of people are looking for 2nd gen parts.

I have an entire interior for sure. Interior everything. Blue cloth color. You need it, I have it lol. I won't need anything interior since I have a tan interior. But I'm in Canada though.

Yeah too bad its not a grey interior because I have every part available. Pulled all the door panels off and I'm going to carpet clean them to get ready to sell. Other than being dirty, the headliner is also in really good shape so I may pull that and clean it to sell. If I had grey interior parts, I'd for sure look into the cost of shipping stuff to the US for you. What interior parts are you after? I'll look around online and see if I find any useful decently priced leads. :)

I see potential. I might be a bit cuckoo, but rust doesn't bother me. That thing started life as big steel sheet, cut, stamped and welded. It all can be put back. What I appreciate is the completeness. Like, the hood insulator is there and appears un-chewed by mice. And crank windows? Was this a base model of sorts? I'm intrigued.

Yeah me too. The interior is super clean and so is the engine. Yeah its got rust, but its expected for a vehicle this old (especially in Alberta!). I almost bought this one (it was listed a while back and then taken down. Found it relisted today) but didn't want to drive 3.5 hours (one way) to Calgary to possibly buy a vehicle. I found my 4Runner closer and its a Sequoia Edition which I was searching for but thought I'd never find! Less rust, less kilometers, closer, and same price. But hey, I just may have to go to Calgary and buy me another 2nd gen! :D

All this 4-door 2nd gen talk isn't good for me. If I had the money, time and space, I'd go out there and rescue that last-year 2nd gen and make it reliable again.

By any chance, are those front seats buckets on that blue one, and how bout the center console and shifter assembly - is it an A/T - is all that stuff in great shape?

As for my Grey one, I really need an entire sunroof "cassette" and interior trim pieces for it. Also, I'm looking for a rear passenger side cargo area window panel speaker grill (I just need someone cut out the speaker grill :OO)

The front seats are buckets and in pretty nice shape (drivers had a small rip). Its a manual, and other than being dirty (I plan to clean the whole thing) the shifter/boot and center console are in good shape.

It may be a long-shot, but if you're up to "harvesting" the upholstery from the buckets...I'd be interested in making something that would work for both of us. Also, if the armrest and latch are in exceptional condition I'd be interested as well.

Armrest is quite worn out. As for the seats, the plan was just to sell them as a set, just want to get rid of them, not un - upholster them lol. Sorry 'bout that.

Good word choice. A resourceful local auto upholsterer harvested the original fabric from my rear jump seats to make a new driver's seat cushion cover. It matches perfectly. He then re-covered the rear jump seats with grey vinyl that also blends in perfectly with the original Toyota interior vinyl. Pics forthcoming . . . .

Edit: the upholsterer took just the jump seat bottoms for the front seat cover. The grey vinyl skirt and piping on the front seat cushion is his work as well:

Just to get headrests reupholstered in tan leather was almost $300 each! I said no. At least for now. 3rd gen limited headrests will work if I can find some. And they will be much cheaper!

He also rebuilt the cushion with two different foam densities so it's pretty comfortable for a split bench.

Yeah, that's more money, even after adjusting for inflation from 2018, than all my truck's front seat work. Whoever quoted you that is likely busy and doesn't need the work.

Wonder if Toyota ever made a brochure for the Sequoia Edition or if it was even ever advertised. There's such limited info on the Sequoia Edition its almost impossible to find out anything about it. But if there was a brochure for it, I want to find one!

Best of luck on that one! Personally, I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to find the "All New 1990" Brochure...as it features my EXACT rig! Having a clean example of that Brochure would tick up the value a tiny bit on my truck (just a lil). Hell, It's hard to even come by an original owners manual that's in decent shape!
I still have my 96' Impala SS Brochure (damn I miss her).

Attached is a press and brochure photo of it that is being widely used by many sources on the web, from bloggers to Ebay vendors.
