I washed the 4Runner last week. When I washed it, it was the second time I’ve washed it in 5e one month that I’ve owned it. I noticed this defect on the grill surround. What’s your take? Manufacturing issue? Environmental? I dunno. I’m thinking of taking it back to the dealer for them to take a look at.

Short term memory for me. It's heat damage. We get nasty reflections from our neighbors high efficiency windows that have caused issues in the past. Sucks that I've only had the 4Runner a month and it's melted.

That is rather interesting and good to know.

I do recall reading somewhere where water bottles in cup holders were causing damage to center consoles due to the sunlight passing through and being intensified into an area.
