hey there.... new to the forum but I wanted to ask for anyone that might have done a full blown system on a 19 or 20 4Runner with jbl. My 2020 has CarPlay/AA and all the nav and stuff. Want to keep the factory stereo BUT want to do a full system. I was looking at the Pac AmpPRO AP4-TY12 but only goes up to “18s. I contacted pac and they said that they have not tested in that vehicle And can’t confirm BUT people have bought and used. Is there anyone on the board that has installed an AmpPRO on a ‘20 model? Either had installed or personally installed with success and confirm?
    Thanks in advance, David

Contacted Pac last week, they said to use the AP4-TY13 and hardwire at the amp. The harness that comes with the unit doesn't fit the OEM plugs on the 2020 JBL 4Runner. They are currently working on a fix, but don't know when it will be released. Even sent me a wiring diagram to use during the process.

My AP4-TY13 was delivered yesterday and I will be starting the install tonight.

    Wish me luck!!!

someone know of a post, site or youtube video showing how to integrate a new amplifier to the 2020 HU with enhanced or premium JBL? I want to swap out all the speakers and add a really nice amplifier but I have never done car work before. I'm handy elsewhere and I am technical but I have always avoided working on cars. I would like to replace the stock sub as well and have a dedicated amplifier. As I understand the JBL system, there are special things to consider.

Thought I replied to this thread a long time ago. The AmpPro AP4-TY13 did work connecting at the amp. You'll need to hardwire the power and ground, though. You can DM me here, and I can walk you through the process. The diagram Pac Audio sent me is kind of useless. After several calls, I was able to get on the line with a Rep who explained how exactly to connect.

FYI... Just make sure you have an amp(s) with plenty of good clean power to drive your system from the AmpPro. It's a clean signal but doesn't use any of your output voltage from the factory amp like connecting with high/speaker level inputs.

    problem solved:
    with jbl: https://oemaudioplus.com/toyota/jup4rn/
    without jbl: https://oemaudioplus.com/toyota/4runner/

I installed the flagship. Besides time, was a simple install. Sounds great. You will not win any amplitude competitions, but you will love the crisp clear and accurate sounds.

I was just going to link that then I saw yours. I just finished my install and added the T9. I went with the dedicated amp/dual sub woofers, and replaced all other speakers. If you are looking for plug and play, OEM look, this is definitely the way to go. Just enough ummph. And with or without JBL.

I got the Reference 500 system with Dual amps/dedicated amp for the subs. No extra power for the other speakers and it uses the OEM wiring. Below you can see the specifications.

I love mine. I have the Reference 500 system with one sub and its dedicated amp. If I have people in the car with me, the bass is actually too present. Driving alone it is really nice. The speakers seem to distort once you get to volume level 45, so you won't win any volume contests with other cars with aftermarket stereos. You cannot ask for a cleaner implementation though. Well worth the money.
