Did anyone else see this video? He has a 5th Gen TRD Pro Lunar Rock (2024) with like 20 miles on it sitting in storage. He sounds like he wants to sell it if the offer is right. I found it kinda fascinating . I’d love to have it…. Love that color!!

Waste of a perfectly fine vehicle letting it sit. It is beyond me why anyone would do that to a 15 year old truck like a 4runner.

Concur. Use it or lose it. Machinery can actually suffer from disuse- fluids can degrade / accumulate moisture, seals and gaskets can dry up / deteriorate, rust or corrosion can occur inside the engine or elsewhere, rodents or insects could move in and set up a home, etc., etc.

I got the idea he was keen on selling it. That’s kinda why I posted this. I’m sure someone could DM him if you know someone that’s looking for a 5th Gen. BTW…. I agree with you guys. I drive my 1st Gen Tundra 2 days a week and my 4Runner the other 5 because if you just let them set…. Things break.

He is waiting for it to appreciate so he can sell to get a pool, but his kids are too little and the runner isn’t worth that much currently.

+1, I’m actually going through this now helping a family member restore a well used and very neglected 05’ 4Runner. Machinery doesn’t like to sit dormant.

It’s only a year old. Same 1/4 tank of stale gasoline that has been in it since new. Poor guy has probably caused a bunch of internal corrosion by repeatedly “warming it up” by letting it idle and then parking it again.

If the guy is serious about making a time-capsule that will actually appreciate in value, he should pickle and store it properly and not touch it. All that idling business is going to cause moisture to accumulate in the engine, in the engine oil, and mess with the cats/exhaust. It will be expensive headaches for the the next guy.

Then again, the next owner will probably buy it to store it as well lol.

At the end of 2024 and earlier this year there was a spike in the 5th Gen selling price. He could get between $56K - maybe 64K currently. It always depends on how much the buyer wants it.

I’ve watched his videos, he is by far a competent mechanic. I’m sure he has a plan. My vibe on the video was that he got a good deal being a Toyota dealership employee and I got the feeling he really was wanting to flip it now rather than later.
