It is mind boggling how many TRD OR’s are sitting at the car rental agencies. Tacoma trd’s up the Yang Yang, also 1 party in our group rented a 4Runner TRD.

In order to replenish their fleets after the big sell off. These rental car agencies are grabbing what they can to get up and running. Also my salesman mentioned to me that new car priorities are going to the rental companies.

After seeing what I saw today At Boston Logan airport rental lot, I believe him. Row after row of new Tacoma quad, Trd Or’s
Actually row after row of all makes and models. Makes me think the American people are being duped again. Shortage of vehicles to the public, but evidently not to rental companies.

I had to travel for work twice this week, and BOTH times, I was lucky enough to get a 4Runner as a rental.... One black, one red. Both SR5's. The black one was 4wd and the red was 2wd.

    Cheers,

    Sean

Well good rental sales in the future, if you would buy a rental 4Runner.

I would never buy a rental lol...the few I have been in lately were freaking disgusting. And some people get a nice ‘test drive’ out of them if you know what I mean.

    ^This 100%

I have an uncle who LOVES to "get the most" out of rentals. I remember him telling an epic story of going off road in a rented Dodge Neon back in the day. I was bothered by his brutal honesty, but know that there are many others out there like him. It's easy to "wash away" the evidence in a lot of cases. Unless there is a glaring dent or crack, the rental folks won't bat an eye in most cases.

I tested the power of the 5.3L in a 2021 Silverado recently, felt like a race truck. I was also mad that I had it because my Toyota needed a new front differential and that was the free rental while at dealer.

Testing the power is one thing. Making a little sedan try to be an off-road beast is another :D

Back when I traveled I had a lot of fun with rental cars when I was young and dumb. No thanks I’ll pass on them.

As for the thefts it’s awful and the new American economy a painful transition.

No matter who you're voting for, there's a good chance they're a crook.
