Anyone been down to Moab/Canyonlands yet this year? I have a permit for the White Rim for this weekend but the park said there's 6" of mud on the north slopes.

Use to do moab at least twice a year. Hit every Easter jeep safari for 6 str8 years, but sadly haven't been in about 2-3 years. That place is magical. It's like a damn religious experience man. I WILL get there this summer. I will...

I haven't been yet this year, but reading reports of White Rim in local groups it seems they are reporting about the same, although some have recently completed the loop.

I'd call the ranger station at Canyonlands, they are always very helpful.

Yeah, we're going to head down anyway and talk to them in person on Saturday. It's supposed to be warmer and no rain down there until the weekend so maybe it'll dry out a little. My brother and I both despise mud so if it's too bad we'll just find something else to do.

There are some spots where the addition of mud would make them ultra hairy. Beautiful drive though. Are you camping? If you didnt get White Crack you should at least go out there and check it out, best views available and that's saying a lot.

Yeah I've done the trip a number of times. When I got my 5th gen a few years ago I took it around the White Rim before it had 500 miles on it. Our permit is for Murphy C. We like Murphy because of the views, but I'm not too sure about climbing it or Hardscrabble with a lot of mud.

I agree, Hardscrabble will be rough if muddy. Murphy is great too, but I'm partial to White Crack.

Take lots of pics and share them here. We should organize a limited run for some forum members some day.

Hi all, brand new here, just bought my first 4Runner, in the process of beginning the mods. Jeep Cherokee is my main moabcrawler
Don’t hate me, it is what it is. Looking forward to playing with the toy when she’s done

No hate at all from me - while I understand some friendly jabs the mad crap talking between brands blows my mind. I'm more interested in shared interests and hobbies than making sure we all have the same exact truck..

    Welcome from Utah!

Hey Guys, who do you like for window tints? I want to get my new 4Runner tinted as its 1st "mod". Really don't want to spend a fortune.

I've always gone to Royal Tinting, but there are a million options. For future reference, you can almost always get the dealer to throw in tint for free.

Welcome to the forums - I look forward to seeing what you do with the new ride!

    Ban this man !!!!!!!!!...

Naw... for real, cheers and welcome bro. When i sit at my local pub, with several different types of people, i think that, even though we may all be drinking a different beverage, we are ALL, doing the same damn thing. Which means, we have something in common. So, welcome dude. Welcome.
I had a white 97 cherokee, and LOVED it. I put just under 300k on that 4.0. In that time, i put 2 batteries, and a few sets of tires on it (and regular maintence) is ALL. Nothing else. Not a damn thing. Loved that rig, and a week after selling it, i was upset with myself.
I do love my 4runner i have now also,... Seems like we travled a familure path man. Legit, welcome yo. Get out there !!! be safe, and have a damn ball.

Hell ya,.. it been perfect. He did a real nice job on the tint. For blacking out your lettering, look on ebay for over lay kits, for your specific rig. They are pretty damn cheap, and takes like 3 minutes to put on. You can have em all done, before finishing a beer, right in your drive way. Dont pay anyone to do it for you man. They just have some 3m tape on em, and i KNOW your thinking no effin way they will stay on. But, bro, they do. Cheap, easy, MUST DO mod imho. I, myself, hate anything shiney or chrome. Just me. I blacked out all my lettering, sprayed over my front and rear valances with raptor liner, and sprayed raptor liner on my roof rack rails that where a silver color. Made them bitches black, and i think they look a billion times better.

A lil vid of the decal over lays. To give you some motivation.... Its easy man, just slap em on, and your done.

And more motivation..... spraying the silver color valances front and rear. Bought the raptor liner kit on Amazon. Came with everything you need, but air. I used my lil lame compressor.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZlcIwdyvyA

Took me a few hours, most of it taping it off. Some on here screamed and yelled at me, why i didnt take em off, meh, fuck em. They can do theirs how they want, and ill do mine, how i want. It got the job done, and turned out killer.
Front and rear valances done, and the roof racks...
Turned out rad as hell, i think. I love the look, and its some tough shit.
( i did remove the roof rails, to spray them,.. took like 4 minutes, if that. Sprayed em, few coats, and put em back on)

4 day adventure, middle of Utah (Millard county). Beat on the runner, like it owed me money,.. loaded down, some medium type trails, mud, water crossings, and a bit of crawling. It just chugged happily, and put in work. 800 miles, in about 4 days. NAV kept track,.. it was a long long few days, and I'm completely wrecked. (I'm getting old, and these longish days away are getting brought on me lol). Such a blas . Super super great time with great people, beautiful land scape and weather, couldn't be happier how it all went down. Happy adventures out there all. Have a ball, and be safe. 4runner on all...
