I'm getting my "not always yearly" itch to travel and have pretty much decided that the one place that seems to check all the boxes is Utah Moab area. Question is, when is the best time of year to visit the place?

I hear ya. Moab is a National park, and a 'mecca' for off-roading. I have never been there, but it's on the list of things to do. When you get that trip under your belt post some pics. Somebody on the forum will be able to tell you when is the best time to go. I'm sure there are members that live close to it that can tell you about it. Have fun!!

Any time other than 'Prime Time' summer season is great - after labor day or before memorial day. This way you miss the peak crowds and highest heat.
