Good morning, new to this forum, but i have followed it for several years. We traded our 2018 SR5 Premium in for a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium. We had had a 2017 Rav 4 Limited prior to our 20184Runner. The back-up camera on the Rav 4 had infrared night vision making evening back-ups as clear as daytime. Is it possible to change out the existing camera for one that is both? If so, Would it be OEM or aftermarket? If it is aftermarket will installing it void my new or extended warranty? Thanking anyone in advance with an answer.

Great question. The amount of power needed to illuminate infrared leds would be minimal and could travel on the same circuit as the camera.

    Welcome!

I never thought about upgrading the camera for better night vision. I went cheap and just put brighter reverse light bulbs.

Diode Dynamics tails as turn allow you to rock quad reverse lights. Then you can get a hitch light. It will be literally night and day

Interested to see how this turns out. Keep us posted. We drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee with all the cameras. The clarity of the camera displays was much nicer than Toyota but the Jeep's refresh rate seemed slow so the pictures were kind of jumpy in some way that I didn't like. The Toyota was smoother, just less brilliant looking.
