They look fancy and all, but if they attach to the body rather than the frame, please do not go offloading with them.......

They attach to the frame at the factory mounting points.

True sliders attach to the side of the frame like these OBI ones. I have never seen a true slider with vertical attach points, most of those just go into the body, and will not support the weight of the vehicle, just rip out your undercarriage.
Multiple people on the Amazon review section say that they bolt directly to the body and are not sliders...

The Tyger Nerf bars attach to the factory mounting points, which are part of the machine frame. This is the same place 90% of aftermarket Nerf bars, sliders, or running boards attach. They might not support the entire weight of the vehicle, but they are pretty damn study and the pictures make clear exactly how the mount. Construction is very good and the finish is pretty flawless.

In my case this is my wife's car and won't see any type of off roading that would require rock sliders like what you posted.

Looks good, at that price point I think I could live with them being on my wife's daily driver.

I may sell mine. Just have to find the time to build new ones first. I was being lazy, i'm a certified welder and had plans to make them but for the price I figured why not. Really not loving them though and they will come off sooner or later. I will post them here as soon as they do.

Correct. These Tyger steps mount to the BODY not the frame. They are in no way shape or form sliders and offer zero as far as structure goes. They are all for show and act as a step, nothing more.

I like the protection from door dings. Not sure about the stars. Have you tested a car parked close to your 4Runner to see if the doors hit the sliders? Thanks.

I haven't BUT I do have a small "rolled" section of the bedliner they spray on it which appears to be from a door hitting it. Likely left a nice dent in the jackasses door too which makes me happy. I don't have a single ding in my doors which also makes me happy.

Can you buy them without the stars? Something else in the place of it. Do they work nice getting in your forerunner? I'm not sure what or if I will put anything on my forerunner when I get it. My 2017 Pro just came in.

Don't think there is an option without stars. They're there, but they don't jump out at you or anything. I was mistaken, these are not sliders but are just running boards. Build quality is top notch. Finish is flawless and seems very durable. They might be more of an annoyance if you're at stock height, but once you get in the habit of using them as a step they are nice. I personally think they look pretty great.

I'm 6'2" so I step over them. They get in my way more than anything. With a lifted truck my wife needs something so this is what I went with. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have anything on it at all. I'll tell ya though, I do hear rocks ping off them sometimes which is much better than hitting my doors!

Yeah, I have the same problem with height. I'm only 5'5 and had side rails on my Tacoma. I like the forerunner without. But I would here the same thing on my Tacoma the stones hitting my steps. And it protects the paint. Thanks for the info.

So anyone want to buy a set of these local to Jessup MD? Still on my truck and will stay there until they are sold. I can install for you, not a problem there. Installed 6/27 and still as perfect as new. $250 or open to a trade

Now I kinda like this step than NFAB Predator steps/Toyota OEM Predator steps due to its ability to protect my rig to door dings. How you feel about the steps after installing them for a year or more now? Any reviews?
