Found an abandoned nest. Did not touch or disturb. I’ve heard the myth that male gobblers chase the hens off the nest and break the eggs? Looks like only one was eaten. Not 08A30BF5-D764-4789-B18F-88A58116ECA3.jpg very well “hidden”. Actually it’s right on a deer/horse trail. Hopefully she will double clutch in a new location...

There’s a lot of shots out here in the middle of the night. Hopefully they are at coyotes....

Alas I had a turkey sneak up behind me without a chirp and flew off. Then the deer started snorting at me. All the wile pulling tick after tick prob two dozen off of me and my boots. And the squitos were feeding too. Don’t go in the woods unless you have to...thank god the season is over sat. I already have an old 400 acre dairy farm in line for October. New genetics to discover!!!
