I need an alignment after going from highway tires to AT tires. I got them at Costco and they don’t do alignments.

I’ve read that the trusted place is Discount tires. When I google DT near me, Americas Tires pop up and another one called “Discount Tires and Service Centers”.

So which one is the real DT?

Where in Cal are you? If you're in LA area, I can vouch for RPM Garage for AT balancing and alignments.

And Discount Tires is known as Americas Tires in California.

Unless you've changed something with the suspension, you don't need an alignment.

(Caveat for the 'but what if' crowd, yes, there are other situations where an alignment is recommended, but a simple tire change ain't it)

Thanks. Too far from LA, I’m more inland. I saw America’s Tires but the other “Discount tires and service center” place confused me.

No changes with the suspension. It was perfectly fine before the AT tires. Costco said the tread pattern is different so an alignment may be needed.

Maybe the tech noted odd tire wear on your old tires, and thought an alignment could help?

But again just changing tires 100% is not a reason to get an alignment.

Old tires (and my barely driven 4Runner) only had 1800 miles when I got the new A/T tires about 2 weeks ago. So unlikely that it had any odd tire wear.

I’d be happy to bring it to another Costco for a 2nd opinion as that won’t cost me the alignment charge.

I'd recommend not asking another Costco as you stated, they aren't alignment techs.

If you feel inclined to get an alignment based on their advice, go for it! It won't harm anything verifying alignment. Just cost ya a little time and money.

If it were me though, I'd skip it.

Most any shop with the proper equipment can do an alignment. As long as you get a printout of the numbers I wouldn’t worry.

You can keep an eye on how your tires wear if you suspect you may need an alignment.

hope your camber/caster bolt isnt seized like mine. Mine is a 2022 and its already seized. If its bad, they have to cut out the lower control arm and replace the LCA. Just want to give you a heads up
