I noticed the other day if I press the Trac Off button the light on the dash will illuminate for what seems like a minute or so and then the light turns off.

If I continue to hold the trac off button to turn off vsc, then both trac and vsc will remain off until I press the button again.

    Is this normal?

Hmmm, I thought the light was to stay on until you pressed the button again to turn it off....Is this while you are sitting in the driveway or driving?? I'm wondering if you are sitting if the Trac Off times out or something? I will try mine later, at work right now.

I'll press the Trac Off button at a stop light. Roughly 1 minute later (while driving), it will time out on it's own without pressing anything.

I found it suspect and didn't know if others did this or not.

I've noticed the same thing... but didn't realize I could hold it down.

Yeah if you hold it down, it turns both Trac and Vehicle Stability Control off and they will stay off until the Trac button is pressed again.

Another question I have is can someone explain the nuance between turning trac off, vsc off, and both off? As I understand, you would want to turn them both off if you're stuck and you need to rock the vehicle back and forth in order to try and get out of sand, mud, ect....

Are there any other situations where it's best of have trac turned off, or both trac and vsc turned off?

    Both or just Trac?

Did you find out if your Trac Off times out while driving?

I think the Trac Off cancels itself once you've reached 30 mph.

So it's true. As soon as you hit around 30mph the light goes off. I also tried to turn it off (light on) above 30mph and it would not work. I drove around under 30 and it stayed off.

Thanks for this thread. I thought something was wrong with my Trac Off. I don't understand why it turns itself back on after 30mph though.

You can bypass the 30mph interlock.

On my 2014 I was able to do this by shifting to 4wd (hi or low, can’t remember which, it’s been a long time with no snow where I live) and holding trac to disable. Once trac is disabled in 4wd, shift back to 2wd. Trac should still be off and you have now bypassed the 30mph interlock.

Do doughnuts safely at your own risk.

Thanks. I am going to try that out. I wanted Trac off, but wanted to keep the other components on. Will give it a try. Thank you.

I’m don’t remember what all stays off with the trac off but, it will allow rear wheel slip.

Old thread but I didn't think our TC turned off @ 30. Got her up to 45mph speed limit & it didn't turn off.
    Just my experience.

Also, TC off is fun on icy roads if you know what you are doing! 20210304_165130.jpg
