I’m visiting Tokyo and thought I’d share some Toyota and other maker 4wds I’ve seen about town. Thus far I’ve seen one blue 5th gen but wasn’t able to capture a photo. This 4r had a lift and raptor lights. I’ve also seen several FJ cruisers, which a local tells me are desirable enough that many have been reimported from the US. The Land Rover was a diesel truck and the Suzuki is a Samurai equivalent, the “Jimny”.

Japan is right hand drive, opposite of US.
So left green arrow to turn left (empty lane and you would have come from the left of that lane)
Center is for straight ahead, also green
Right is oncoming traffic, so it is red, do not enter. You can see cars in that lane on the right of the picture

In our city we have streets where there are traffic lights that will change direction depending on rush hour. Quite a few people still have a hard time understanding the lights ;)

What's this thing in the middle of the parking space? Theft deterrent?

How's the sushi and the ramen?

Looks to me that it’s the equivalent of having a green light but the left turn lane has a red arrow.

The Toyota museum was on my radar but sadly couldn’t manage it on this trip. Taking the boss and my daughter to Disney/Disney Sea over the next three days. Will visit the museum on a return visit.

we’ve had excellent meals including sukiyaki at a 140 or so year old restaurant that originated the dish. Soba was tasty and I’ve had great sushi and wagyu.

that barrier in the park space prevents you leaving until payment is proffered. Automated.

the FJ model was a Toyota licensed product made here in Japan. No 4R model that I saw.

The white line is the divider between the traffic lane flows. To the right of that white line traffic is coming towards you. To the left of the white line it looks like 2 straight ahead lanes and the left turn lane is not in the shot. Right hand drive cars so your car's lane is on the left. In the US it's left hand drive, your lane is on the right.

Toyota makes RH drive cars in the US, ships them back to Japan. I'm sure all auto companies can do that.

Thanks. I didn’t catch the Oiden Festival - perhaps on a return visit.

Here’s a couple more, a Prado my wife spied, an active duty Mitsubishi, and a 60th Anniversary edition LC.

As an aside, none of the Jeeps I saw had a pile of rubber duckies atop the dash.

If you’re still there and have the time swing by a Toyota dealership and see what they have . TIA .
