Just about every modern vehicle has this problem. Gets really bad with aftermarket accessories. One common theme from the article you posted is the owners are letting the vehicles sit for a week or more.

In my ‘21 ORP, I have a Garmin Dash Cam Mini powered with the Garmin Constant Power Cable via the OBD connector. I can only use the “10m” setting (powers cam for ten minutes after vehicle shutoff). I had to replace the original battery at 2.5 years old.

Even with a new battery, If I use the “24h” or “infinity” set, it will kill my battery within a week. The “24h” setting (powers 24 hours after vehicle shutoff) will cause weak starting if not driven over a weekend. That’s just a dash cam drawing 80-150mA.
