My 4Runner has a stated max towing capacity of 5,000. Been towing a 4,200 lb pontoon boat from storage yard to ramp (2 miles) and to dealer for repairs (50 miles) with no problems. Looking to upgrade boat to newer model but weight goes to 5,200. This exceeds max towing capacity. Any concerns about towing from ramp to storage yard and back. Ramp into lake has slight incline but never a struggle with current boat.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
For a short distance you should be fine. You'll sag a bit more because of the added weight on the suspension. You'll also have increased breaking distance. But for 2 miles...you should be okay.

    ^what he said.

If you drive according to the circumstances, I wouldn't be concerned. I've towed heavier, and further. Obviously not ideal, but it can be done.

Just remember, it’s not about towing, it’s about stopping.

Good tires on truck & trailer. If the boat has 2 or 3 axles have brakes in top condition on all axles.
Set your brake controller to engage trailer properly with sufficient power.
Also boats tend to be streamlined for wind, but can be rear heavy depending on engine and tankage locations. Make sure the boat fits the trailer used. You also need the correct hitch weight.
Here is a clever DIY bath scale used to directly measure hitch weight. This can help position boat over trailer axles. Guideline is 10-12% of total trailer weight should be on hitch. Math and construction suggestions are on line.

I would also consider extra weight coils in the rear as well.
