I was gifted a pretty nice 1997 Limited 4x4 with locking diffs. It got some font end damage in the Palisades fire but a really well maintained truck. I'm rebuilding the entire knuckle and want to make sure I get the right tools.

I have a nice press but don't have the sleeves or bearing press set. I think I can get these all at Harbor Freight but unsure about what sizes I need to press out the hub or size for pressing in the bearings. I also saw a video where a slide hammer was used to pop out something that looked like an oil seal. Again, I think I saw that tool at Harbor Freight.

Any links to specific sets would be appreciated!

One last thing. If the bearing is still good, can it be pressed out of one knuckle assembly and re pressed in to a new one? My knuckle is damaged from the crash.

I didn't want to mess with all that so I went with Fre33 Lance Fab complete spindles

    Plug-n-play

    Awesome product

I kept my old oem spindles

    So $1300 bucks

    Basically beer money

$1300? And they're not reinforced? What am I missing?

To the OP: When you say "Damaged in the Palisades fire." Do you mean fire damage, or collision when they were clearing the roads with dozers?

$750 for a set of spindles
    $180 for upper ball joints
    $300 for core
    Shipping and taxes

Total comes to just over $1300 for my setup

If you want reinforced spindles they cost $950 and then whatever you want to add from there
