Does anyone know the largest tire I can put on the 20s -with mudguards- without modification/cutting/significant rubbing? I’m getting answers all over the place both online and from dealers. 270/60/20 275/60/20 275/75/20 280/75/20. A bit frustrating to be honest, especially from the dealers. Thx in advance.

I tried to go beyond 245/60/20 on 2022. Toyo OC AT3
But less than 1inch gap at full lock

I know 275/60/20 fit, that’s the only size I have confirmed. I’m going for the widest stance. See image… and thank you.

Welcome! I dont have an answer but I congratulate you on getting this into right forum.

If 6th gens are like 5th gens, they'll like taller tires more than wider. Also, if 6ths are like 5ths, each one will be a little different. We've had 5th gens for 15 years and there are still arguments about whether 275s or 285s will fit on stock setups. If you're going bigger than stock you're just going to have to send it to know for sure. If they rub, return them or decide if you comfortable removing whats rubbing.

Thanks! 275s definitely fit, I’m more curious about height/diameter. I’m getting 55-75 but have yet to confirm anything but 55 and 60.

If you want wide, run the 305/50-20
    Its 32.5 x 12.2 x 20
This is the "shortest" wide tire

If you want "safe" the 285/55-20
    Its like 32.8 x 11.5 x 20
The 285 is a shade taller and a shade narrower than the above tire but will fill the fender a bit more

A 275/55-20 would look thin and out of place if you are trying to go for wide, i would certainly go wider. I have the 305/50-20 on my 5th gen TRD Sport and its tits.

Much appreciated. I also want tall. Having a lot of space in the well bugs me, aesthetically. But thank you.

Right after the 6th gen came out people were stuffing 33x12.50s stock and 35x12.50s with a 2.5" front spacer lift
I suspect if you are keeping it stock, the 305/50-20 would be the absolute widest, shortest, best looking tire you can fit without having to lift it. I am pretty sure the 33x12.50 rub the upper A-arm which is why everybody who put the 33x12.50 went with aftermarket wheels. Your suspension geometry is the same as whats on my 5th gen and the 305/50-20 is only about 0.100" away from rubbing the A-arm. It clears, its fine, but its very close. a 33x12.50 would certainly rub the upper A-arm

Also that way too wide. The guards will shear right off.

    Here
Use this, plug in what you know will fit, and then play with the numbers until you get a height you like and then start looking for tires in that size.
285/55-20 and 285/60-20 would likely be your play if you are trying to go taller without going a lot wider.

65 is what I’m hoping for.

    285/65-20 = 34.6x11.2
thats going to be a VERY big tire to stuff under the stock wheel well, you are going to be more likely to rub from diameter there than you would with an inch shorter and inch wider tire. Best of luck to you.
Also, a 285/65-20 is a very odd size, look at the prices on Tire Rack and Discount tire. $450-$550 a tire.
    Best of luck to you.

Local guy has a new TRD OR with the stock wheels, he put 33x12.50 on his with a 1.5" spacer to clear the A-arm. The tires stick way out like 2" outside the fender flares but it looks wide and tough. I think a wider tire looks better than a tall stuffed tire but you do you.

Oh I know I can’t do 285. I believe I can do 275/65 at max. I’m just hoping someone can confirm. And thank you.

Okay, I know I can implement 275/60/20. Does anyone know if I can go 280/60/20?

There is still the gearing Issues and probable vibrations btw 55/65MPH.
Would not be covered under warranty should it occur.
