I recently bought a 2023 TRD Off-Road and I don't like the current set of Dunlop's that are on it. My question is this, what is the next size I can go up (height & width) on the factory 17" rim without any rubbing?? 265 70 17 is what is on there now.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
You don't have to go up in size to get a capable and aggressive looking tire. I stayed with the stock size, and went with the Falken Wildpeaks.

I replaced my car tire looking factory Dunlops on my 2022 SR5 Premium 4WD with stock size 265/70 R17 SUMITOMO ENCOUNTER ATs, in the SL (Standard Load) load range. I really like them. They are good in rain. Quiet. Smooth. They do carry the three mountain peak snow rating, although in central Texas I will rarely if ever be driving in snow. They look good for what I wanted to accomplish- getting a bit more of a “trucky” looking tire.

Got them at our local Discount Tire. Just had them do their first tire rotation at 5,000 miles a couple weeks ago.

It may surprise some to know that SUMITOMO Rubber Industries of Japan owns Falken Tire.

In the bottom pic, in case anybody’s wondering, you can notice I did have a local 4WD specialty shop do a front lift, using a pair of Bilstein 5100 series adjustable shock absorbers. The rear still has the factory shocks. I may do something with the rear at a later date.

265/70s look just fine as long as you don’t lift it

I was able to fit 275/70R17 tires on my bone stock TRD ORP. I even added little extra wait like RSG sliders and didn't have any rubbing. But I didn't like the ride quality of Load E 275/70R17 tires I used.

For both my TRD ORP & Limited I was able to fit 285/70R17 tires on factory TRD ORP wheels with a mild lift and very minor plastic trimming to the front bumper. With lift I didn't have to remove mud flaps or needed body mount chop.

Many on this forum say you don't need any lift. So maybe give a try with 285/70R17s.

I drove on both the brands of stock tires.
Okay around town, highway & dirt roads. I upgraded to Pirelli Scorpion AT+ in stock size. Also 3peak rated, quiet, sidewall nubs, XL rated and 41 lbs compared to stock 39 lbs. So stock suspension for unsprung weight not impacted. Got an air compressor so I can set tire pressures for off highway surfaces. Very popular in other parts of the World, but not well known in USA.

    Everyone's vehicle is different.

275/70/17 is the next size bigger. It will likely fit.
