The dealership added oil conditioner and fuel cleaner with the oil change.

I’m planning to change my oil every 5,000 miles. Is it safe to continue driving with the current oil until then? Will it damage my engine or other components?

You'll be fine. The only thing that can damage your 4Runner is raptor lights.

Haha! I’m glad I don’t have those raptor lights yet, unless they’re OEM products.

I bought it already had leather. Some audio
As others said, you'll be fine. And really, vs the BIG oversell bills that happen:

Consider it the small cost of education. Where ever you go, dealer, independent, God forbid quickie place, you'll be more alert and watch out for stuff like this.

And please everyone, read the pre-service/repair estimate.
I didn't want my skid plate bolts cross threaded but they gave it to me just the same.
That was their first 'free' oil change and tire rotation at the 10k mark. I've done my own service since then.
120,000+ miles on the clock now.

If you can not or will not do your own maintenance, find a trustworthy shop and establish a meaningful relationship. I can’t pinpoint whether the root cause of the rot within the auto industry is incompetence, apathy or greed, but all three are contributing factors.

Are you on an island? The Toyota maintenance booklet says to use additives when on an island:

The racing Camrys use them: https://zakproducts.com/shop/oil/engine-oil-booster/

Did you get a price beforehand? If you did you have a case. If you didn't well I would be surprised if you got your money back. I'm shocked at the number of people that bring cars to dealerships and just ask for a service but then get shocked at the price of the bill. 100% get a price quote prior. As someone who has been in the industry awhile not every dealership is honest and trustworthy.

I only requested an oil change and tire rotation. Initially, they claimed it was free since it was covered under Toyota care. However, after some time, they informed me that I needed to pay for it because my car wasn’t covered under Toyota care due to its lease history, which was completely unreasonable. I inquired about the price, and they quoted me $120. When the final bill arrived, it was $150. I argued with them, and they eventually adjusted the final bill to $140.

You definitely have a legitimate case. It sounds like an advisor only worried about their pockets. I would contract the Service Manager, a good one will fix the problem with zero issues. That’s shady behavior. They should have also known upfront if it was or wasn’t covered. That’s 101 for being a service advisor.

I’ve already sent an email to the Toyota customer service form, attaching all the relevant files. I hope they’ll take care of this issue. It’s my first time visiting that stealership since it’s conveniently located near my house, but I won’t be returning there again.

You can micromanage the services you purchase from these dealers.
Example engine oil and filter. Demand bottle Toyota Oil not their bulk oil purchased in drums. Demand no additives of any kind. Request the empty bottles and provide a bucket to put them into. Demand genuine Toyota oil filter and tell them to put the old dirty filter in a zip lock baggie in the bucket. Tell them you want the box the new oil filter came.
All this is with the Service Writer when setting up their scope of work for your truck.
Before leaving Read the estimate and make sure there are no references to additives.
Still it seems Trust is lost with this dealer and you may still get overtightened oil filter housings, cross threaded fasteners etc.
In my area BG additives are pushed without customer approval and just show up on final bill.

I guess I would have paid for the cost of an oil change, told them thanks for the additives and went on my way. Many years ago, I asked a dealership for a diagnosis on a engine, an estimate to fix the engine, the next thing I know they call me with a bill for a new engine.... I didn't ask for the engine, didn't pay for it, got the car back, sold it.

I’ll do it next time. But what if they give me a random oil bottle and a filter they used for another vehicle? We can’t trust them anymore.

I’ve already used the 5K service from different dealership. However, I’m having issues with the dealership near my house. You can read the thread I created for more details.

The best thing you'll ever do for your car is find a reputable independent shop that the owner is actively working at or is at least there in person overseeing it and make yourself one of their favorite customers. Don't complain or micromanage other than making what you want done perfectly clear and if you have a problem get ahold of the owner and make it clear and then give him a chance to fix it. Dealerships generally don't hold on to oil change guys so you never know what might happen.

Not legal to charge for services not approved by customer. Do a chargeback on your CC if they won't reduce to normal oil change price. Never go back and leave appropriate reviews.

Did you check the Zak website? It's a Berkshire Hathaway company, meaning it makes min. 20% profit margins or gets divested from Buffett's portfolio.

I like shops where you can watch the vehicle being worked on . But the two in my area are more miles away plus then I need to be at the shop the whole time.
Best you can hope for at a dealer is have a service writer that owns a runner himself and a tech in the shop that also is a runner owner.
Dealers remove the vehicles from your sight for a reason!
Or seek a mobile mechanic that will work in your driveway/garage.

What I don’t understand is that people think if you can see your vehicle through a window it’s getting better service from a better technician. That’s just nonsense.

Ive noticed the power of a google review. Following the "free" toyota oil change, they didnt top off the fluids, change the oil filter or reset the oil change light. Did a google review and instantly got a call from the dealership. They were pissed because they said i shouldnt have left the review. Too bad so sad.

That’s ridiculous behavior from a business. That’s a clear indication that management is lazy and is a reflection on the company. You know as well as I do that behavior is contagious. Perform intelligently and demonstrate concern for a process and you’ll naturally get better results from most people. Nothing says chaos like management acting like middle school girls.

I personally always give the place of business one, maybe two shots to make it right before I right a honest review with no embellishment. State facts, state place of business's responses, etc. Don't libel. I have had a few placed contact me and make it right-but I never removed my original review-although I would put an update:'Dealer contacted me and made amends only after leaving this review". That could be a good road map for customers that got the same treatment.
