Hi, new member. I looked up problem here on why engine light and Trac Off was showing. Got info about how vapor could get in fuel system and cause this. Sure enough, forgot to replace gas cap. This happened Sunday, filled up tank and closed cap…today, Wed, all warning lights off. So happy thank you so much!!!

Welcome from Wisconsin! Had a similar thing happen to me, except the 'gasket' on the fuel cap went bad. Solution change fuel cap and all is good. You got yours figured out..... that's a good thing!

Just to double check, just before you fill up you had the check engine light and and soon after you fill up and closed the cap it was gone? That's very good on a 4Runner.
Just asking because my friend had the same issue on Subaru but did not clear after a day. So I had to clear the code with my OBD scanner.
