Can someone explain a T-SB? I thought when the manufacturer sent one out it was basically admitting there was a problem, explained how to fix it and covered the repair. Is that wrong? My daughter called me yesterday and told me there was water sloshing in the driver's door, I told her to find the grommet and pull it out, she said it was like turning on a faucet. I did a search and found T-SB-0084-21, a repair for this issue. The dealer is charging me for the fix.The car is a Rav4, not a 4Runner, but still a Toyota.

Is the vehicle under warranty? TSBs I have had completed stated it was covered under either the bumper to bumper or powertrain.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

T-SB's are safety bulletin's telling you what is wrong with the vehicle and how to fix them. Then, inside the document posted it will outline how the customer can get it fix and if it's covered. In your daughters case, it is not.

The T-SB is almost 4yrs old. Most dealers probably won't cover that work for free anymore. According to the pdf they posted, it appears to be a cheap/quick fix. Maybe you can do it for her?

The dealer just called me , $583 for the repair. She graduates next Saturday and will be coming home, so I will deal with it then. I wish I had known about this when it still had a warranty.

A TSB will be covered under warranty but usually not outside of it which is why I buy the extended warranty. A recall is always covered no matter the warranty situation.

I've been driving Toyotas since 1992, this is the second issue I have had with a Toyota, the other time was with a 2001 4runner and the dealer fixed it under warranty. I'm going to have to start looking at other manufacturers, this is unacceptable.

If you owned a Ford you'd have 2 issues within 33 weeks. Don't say "This is unacceptable." It sounds very...Karen-ish.

Really Loco, you, of all people, didn't get it? I'm going to have to find another site to share my humor.
