I’m New here and have been enjoying this site for useful tech info for the last week while installing mods on my recently acquired 2012 Trail Edition with KDSS suspension. I Thought I would post a few pics of mods I’ve done this last week after buying this unit from Quebec Canada with only 33,000 miles on it and in mint condition with the exception of 1 small 3/4 inch hairline scratch on the tail gate. The dealership had no idea this unit had KDSS on it and sold it to me for thousands less than the going rate should have been up here. So I jumped on a plane, and drove it back 2500 miles to the western Rockies of Alberta. Anyways, here’s what I’ve managed to squeak out in the last week.

    2012 Trail Edition

Pedal Commander throttle booster and fuel saver. This thing is insane btw!!

Stock running boards swapped for NFab steel frame sliders and steps

Stock wheels bumped up to BFG KO2 275/70/17

Daytec lift and level. 2.5” front , 1.5” rear

    Spider trax 1.25” wheel spacers

Dash cam install - DDPAi MH Gen 2

    K & N air filter

Custom Ram mount Cell phone mounted into dash

    Toyota Blackout kit

    Custom Husky floor liners

    Internal console mods

Complete window tinting front hood 3M paint protection film and Truck spray on bed liner being applied to under carriage , fenders and rocker panels next week.

The combo of stock rims, Daytecs lift and level , Spider trax Wheel spacers and the 275/70/17 BFG Ko2 tires were sweet. Minimal front fender liner rubbing fixed in 5 min by pushing liner forward and resetting the screws.

    ******UPDATED*******

    January 27 2019

All windows have been limousined out with the exception of the front passenger and driver which have been semi blacked out.

The entire under carriage has beenroad salt and rust removed, treated and then coated and sprayed with a bitumen based compound that eliminates moisture and oxygen from the oxidization process. The entire under side is blacked out now.

As seen in the new photos below, I’ve had LINE X body armour sprayed high on the rocker panel exterior sections, insides of the doors and along the rear tailgate inside and out where rust always forms first. I then had my NFAB steel sliders and steps sprayed and armoured up as I live on a gravel road in the country which would destroy these bars in a short time. This stuff is rock solid and water and air tight. The photos simply don’t do it justice.

Next I’ve installed a WESTIN Bull bar. Super quick and easy install. I’ve also got a 20” Extreme WESTIN LED light bar for it, but I’m waiting on the light bar mount to arrive.

Just the 3" Nfabs + AT tires really ups the aggressive look.

I like those older larger headlights better than the newer ones.

    Nice truck!

Hey! Did you install the blackout overlay under the badging on your lift gate? I'm looking to do that with mine.

yo! question about the dash cam install. did you power the cam w power from the mirror? i went to install mine the other day and there was no harness available for the dongle jump...i thought it very odd since i think all the 4R mirrors are the same? TIA. pic for what i saw when i took down the overhead console. you can see the wire go through towards the windshield w no harness.

Havent seen that poster back since 2019. Trying to find the link to the wire harness that ties the dash cam to the mirror. Not sure if there is a point in production when this could have been changed/updated.

Good score on your new rig! Looks like your getting it dialed in nice, I’m digging what you’ve done with the Line-X, probably a good idea in your neck of the woods. Welcome to the forum.
