So using the search button produced no results.
I went to two places to get the sun roof tinted.

Both places told me tinting the sun roof may cause it to crack.

    Fact fiction?
Anyone tint the sun roof to reduce interior heat loading?

On the search engine thingy also noticed that none of the threads had the search word highlighted so it became very tiresome trying to read ALL posts of each thread looking for this topic. Did I miss something or is this room for improvement?

    Thanks folks...

since 4runners.com is a fairly new forum, this topic hasn't been discussed yet, hence the wonky search. It's fiction, I've never heard that tinting a sunroof can cause it to crack, i don't see how a plastic film could make tempered glass break in sun that its already receiving. In fact all the tint guys I've ever talked to have told me theres no reason to not tint a sunroof

My 1996 Sun roof is tinted. Still one piece to this day.
